"Spiderhead", disturbing sci-fi

This Netflix film "Spiderhead" managed to surprise me with its narrative originality and luxurious acting.
Directed by Joseph Kosinski, it presents a dystopian futuristic story set in a state-of-the-art penitentiary where inmates serve as guinea pigs for new mind-altering drugs.
From its haunting production designs to its disturbing soundtrack, Kosinski succeeds in immersing the viewer in the ambiguous atmosphere between science and ethics.

Chris Hemsworth marries physical strength to nuanced new actors as the enigmatic prison boss, supported by Miles Teller and Jurnee Smollett in memorable roles.
Beyond the suspense, I welcome how it raises reflections on free will and the risks of medicalisation with questionable ethics. An acid climate that keeps you hooked.

Definitely one of the most risky and intelligent proposals of the year 2022. My warmest recommendation for lovers of disturbing sci-fi.
