This is a thriller/espionage film directed by Francis Lawrence and based on the novel of the same name by Jason Matthews.

The plot unfolds against a backdrop of political intrigue and espionage, where Dominika becomes a spy trained by the Russian government.

The film begins with Dominika enjoying her career as a ballerina, but her life takes a dramatic turn when she suffers a serious injury during a performance.

Unable to continue in ballet and facing financial problems, her uncle, a high-ranking Russian intelligence officer, offers her an alternative: to join the ‘Sparrow School’, a secret institution that trains young people to become seductive and manipulative spies.

Dominika, with little choice, accepts and undergoes a rigorous and brutal training that transforms her into a highly trained agent.

As the story progresses, Dominika is assigned to a mission that leads her to infiltrate the world of American espionage.

Her goal is to seduce Nathaniel Nash, a CIA agent played by Joel Edgerton, who has valuable information about a traitor within Russian intelligence.

Throughout the film, Dominika faces moral and emotional dilemmas as she must balance her loyalty to her country with her desire to survive and protect her family.

The relationship between Dominika and Nathaniel becomes a central element of the plot. As they get to know each other, both characters must navigate a world of deceit and betrayal, complicating their feelings and loyalties.

The tension mounts as Dominika realises that she can trust no one, not even those who have trained her.
