Director Pablo Larraín's adaptation of Stephen King's novel is an eerie and emotional story about grief and buried truths.

From its haunting opening frames in a wooded Maine landscape, Larraín immerses us in Lisey's unstable world after the death of her famous husband.

As Lisey delves into her husband's dark past, Clive Owen also astonishes with his many shades of the brilliant writer, from devoted lover to something much darker.

Larraín creates a haunting atmosphere that lingers, leaving the viewer with indelible final images and profound reflections on the heartaches of marriage.

With a keen eye for both psychological tension and visually stunning sequences, Lisey's Story stands out as the best work of Larraín and his stellar cast.

King fans and new viewers alike will find much to applaud in this understated gem. A profound achievement of long-form storytelling for our times.

Clive Owen was also nominated for an Emmy for his chameleon-like portrayal of the late writer, showing his acting range even under layers of make-up.

Larraín received nominations for Best Director and the series for Best Film/Miniseries at the Monte Carlo Television Festival, which appreciated the immersive direction of his narrative.
