"Extraction", unbridled action

The action movie "Extraction", directed by Sam Hargrave for Netflix, was a surprise that pushed the boundaries of the genre.
The plot features mercenary Tyler Rake, played by a brutish Chris Hemsworth, on a mission to save the son of a drug lord held in Bangladesh.
From its stifling plotting to its hyper-realistic photography, Hargrave succeeds in immersing the viewer in the intensity of the criminal underworld through excellent direction.

But undoubtedly the highlight is the spectacular action shot of almost 12 minutes filmed in one shot, a true technical feat in this type of production.
Beyond the visual display, I admired when the film stopped to explore nuances in the characters among so much adrenaline.
Without a doubt, "Extraction" marks the birth of a new talent in the genre and renews formulas, hopefully Hargrave will continue to push the possibilities of action cinema.
