Apostle, a psychological thriller
Image
Apostle takes place in 1905 Wales and centers around Thomas Richardson, a man who must travel to a remote island to rescue his sister after she's kidnapped by a mysterious religious cult.
When Thomas arrives at the island, he finds the cult ruled under an oppressive iron fist by their Prophet Malcolm.
The cult lives in constant fear of Malcolm's violent outbursts and extreme punishment for any rule breakers.

Posing as a converted follower, Thomas infiltrates the cult's ranks to gather information on his sister's whereabouts, but he soon learns there are deeper, far more sinister secrets harbored within the峓ccult walls.
As Thomas probes further, he uncovers acts of disturbing ritual and brutal sacrifices intended to appease their God. A terrifying showdown looms as Malcolm grows increasingly paranoid of threats to his dominion.

Directed by Gareth Evans with a gritty, slow-burning intensity, Apostle builds to a truly nightmarish, distressing conclusion. It's a unsettling depiction of the darkness that can lurk beneath the surface of even the most pious communities.
An thoroughly unnerving psychological thriller that will leave audiences unsettled for nights to come.
