I think TV series affect society because when a series is popular, it is watched by millions and the behavior in these series changes the way everyone from young to old looks at things. To give an example, in the TV series “ Uzak Şehir” which is currently running, a man marries the wife of his dead brother. Is that normal now? In the series, it is said that this is a will of the deceased brother, but why would the brother make such a will? Why not just accept her as his sister-in-law? Let's say it's a social obligation, because in some cities and tribes there are still such traditions. Then why am I watching them slowly fall in love with each other? The scenes where they look at each other and smile make me nauseous. I know that 10-15 episodes from now we will see scenes of them kissing and even making love and I don't like that. Society should not normalize this. If I die, why should my brother marry my wife? This is complete nonsense. Stop romanticizing it.

Another thing is that, for example, in TV series, a man rapes a woman and then tries to make it up to her by being cute and then they are happy together. This is not what a family is and this is not how it can be built. Women are raped in real life and what does a woman who watches this show on TV think she should do? Or what does that woman's family think that woman should do? Should she accept it and marry that man? Street animals are mistreated in TV series and this goes unpunished. This is ridiculous. Someone who watches that series and doesn't like stray animals can go and kick a stray animal tomorrow because the character they watched in the series didn't get any punishment. Nobody came to him and asked him what are you doing?

When I watch old TV series, I see that this is not the case. The concept of family is more prominent and there are happier families, people are kind to each other. People are trying to fix things. Poor people don't seek to cheat, they work with dignity and try to earn and they succeed. If a shopkeeper, for example, sells a product at a high price, that shopkeeper is punished in the series and bad things happen to him. There is a very famous TV series in Turkey called Valley of the Wolves. In this series a man rapes a child and goes to prison. One of the main characters of the series kills the man in prison by crushing his head with a stone. Violence is not always the solution, but don't you think a pervert watching this series would be afraid to rape a child? Wouldn't he stay away from the disgusting thoughts in his head because he is afraid that something will happen to him in prison?

In today's dramas, women and children are seen as the weak point of a strong man, and indeed they are. It is very important for a man's family and when they are kidnapped, he will do his best to save them. It happens in the dramas too, but even if the man gets the kidnapped woman and child back, the criminals are not punished enough. In the old mafia dramas, women and children are sacred, they are not harmed. Even if they are kidnapped, they are safe. We don't see anything about this in the current series. They trap and capture people through such things. Even this kidnapping time is extended to make the series last longer lol.

If one day someone reads this post and says that women are not valued in Game of Thrones but people don't care, Game of Thrones is a medieval series in a fantasy universe. It's a show where people do nothing but fight and women are seen as worthless. And even in that, you watch the rise of a woman like Khaleesi. You see how a child/woman like Arya eliminates everyone who harms her family and overcomes all difficulties. The series I am talking about are the series that tell the present day, maybe 5-10 years ago, and the series that say they are inspired by real life.

Televizyon dizilerinin toplumu etkilediğini düşünüyorum çünkü bir dizi popüler olduğu zaman milyonlar tarafından izleniyor ve bu dizilerdeki davranışlar gençlerden yaşlılara herkesin olaylara bakışını değiştiriyor. Bunu örneklendirmek gerekirse şu anda yayınlanan "Uzak Şehir" adlı dizide bir adam ölen abisinin eşiyle evleniyor. Şimdi normal bir şey mi? Dizide, bunun ölen abinin bir vasiyeti olduğu söyleniyor ama abi neden böyle bir vasiyette bulunsun? Neden sadece yengesi olarak onu kabullenmesinler? Bir başka şey de örneğin dizilerde bir adam kadına tecavüz ediyor ve daha sonra ona şirinlikler yaparak kendini affettirmeye çalışıyor ve daha sonra birlikte mutlu oluyorlar. Aile bu değildir ve böyle kurulamaz. Gerçek hayatta kadınlara tecavüz ediliyor ve televizyonda bu diziyi izleyen bir kadın ne yapması gerektiğini düşünür? Ya da bu kadının ailesi o kadının ne yapması gerektiğini düşünür? Bunu kabullenip o adamla evlenmesi gerektiğini mi? Dizilerde sokak hayvanlarına kötü davranılıyor ve bu cezasız kalıyor. Bu çok saçma. O diziyi izleyen ve sokak hayvanlarını sevmeyen birisi yarın gidip bir sokak hayvanını tekmeleyebilir çünkü dizide izlediği karakter hiçbir ceza almadı. Kimse ona gelip sen ne yapıyorsun diye sormadı.

Eski dizileri izlediğimde bunun böyle olmadığını görüyorum. Aile kavramı daha ön planda ve daha mutlu aileler var, insanlar birbirine nazik davranıyor. İnsanlar bir şeyleri düzeltmek için çabalıyorlar. Fakirler hile yapmanın peşinde koşmuyor onurlu bir şekilde çalışıp kazanmaya çalışıyorlar ve başarıyorlar. Eğer bir esnaf örneğin bir ürünü pahalıya satarsa o esnaf dizide cezalandırılıyor ve başına kötü şeyler geliyor. Kurtlar Vadisi adında Türkiye'de çok ünlü bir dizi var. Bu dizide bir adam bir çocuğa tecavüz ediyor ve hapse giriyor. Dizinin baş karakterlerinden biri hapishanede adamın kafasını taşla ezerek öldürüyor. Şiddet her zaman çözüm değil ama sizce bu diziyi izleyen bir sapık bir çocuğa tecavüz etmekten korkmaz mı? Hapishanede başına bir şeyler geleceğinden korktuğu için kafasındaki iğrenç düşüncelerden uzak durmaz mı?

Şimdiki dizilerde kadınlar ve çocuklar güçlü birinin zayıf noktası olarak görünüyor ve gerçekten de öyledir. Bir erkeğin ailesi için bu çok önemlidir ve onlar kaçırıldığında onu kurtarmak için elinden geleni yapar. Dizilerde de böyle oluyor ama kaçırılan kadın ve çocuğu adam geri alsa bile suçlular yeterince cezalandırılmıyor. Eski mafya dizilerinde kadınlar ve çocuklar kutsaldır, onlara zarar verilmez. Kaçırılsa bile güvende olurlar. Şimdiki dizilerde buna dair hiçbir şey göremiyoruz. İnsanları böyle şeyler üzerinden tuzağa düşürüyorlar ve ele geçiriyorlar. Hatta dizinin daha uzun sürebilmesi için bu kaçırılma süresi de uzatılıyor lol.

Bir gün biri bu gönderiyi okur ve örneğin Game of Thrones'ta da kadınlara değer verilmiyor ama insanlar bunu önemsemiyor derse, Game of Thrones fantastik bir evrende bir nevi orta çağa ait bir dizi. İnsanların savaşmaktan başka bir şey yapmadığı kadınların da değersiz görüldüğü bir dizi. Ki onda bile Khaleesi gibi bir kadının yükselişini izliyorsunuz. Arya gibi bir çocuğun/kadının nasıl ailesine zarar veren herkesi ortadan kaldırışını ve bütün zorluklara göğüs germesini görüyorsunuz. Benim bahsettiğim diziler ise günümüzü belki 5-10 yıl öncesini anlatan diziler ve gerçek hayattan esinlendiğini söyleyen diziler.
