Hola querida comunidad cinéfila, esta semana tuve la oportunidad de ver una película que se estrenó este 30 de noviembre en la plataforma de Netflix, titulada Familia revuelta (Family Switch título original) dirigida por el director y productor McG (Joseph McGinty Nichol) conocido por dirigir los Ángeles de Charlie (2000 y 2003), Terminator: La salvación (2009), entre otras, pero esta vez nos trae una comedia familiar fantástica, que a pesar de una crítica especializada dividida, ha tenido una buena aceptación por parte del público. Confieso que es un género que no me gusta y en mi casa no existe la costumbre de celebrar navidad, por lo que tampoco le encuentro mucha emoción a ese tipo de películas, y a pesar de tener muchas cosas que no me gustaron, fue entretenida, hubo momentos en los que reí bastante, cabe destacar que está basada en la novela Bedtime For Mommy de Amy Krouse Rosenthal.

Sinopsis:

La familia Walker compuesta por 5 miembros, Jess Walker (Jennifer Garner) una madre trabajadora, exitosa, metódica y exigente, sobre protectora con sus hijos, Bill Walker (Ed Helms) el padre de la familia, un hombre con crisis de mediana edad, que trata de actuar como si fuera joven de nuevo, y que se siente frustrado por haber dejado su carrera musical cuando joven, CC Walker (Emma Myers) una joven adolescente rebelde, que no sigue estándares femeninos, deportista, la jugadora de futbol más importante de su instituto que sueña con triunfar en el equipo nacional, Wyatt Walker (Brady Noon) el hijo aplicado, extremadamente tímido, metódico, considerado un genio, pero que sufre de bullying. Además, está integrada por el bebé Walker y el perro de la familia. Todos sufren por sentirse incomprendidos entre ellos mismos, sus diferencias hacen que peleen a diario y un día despiertan descubriendo que han intercambiado sus cuerpos, los padres con sus hijos y el bebé con el perro, teniendo que descubrir juntos como manejar esta situación y tratar de volver a sus cuerpos originales.

Mi opinión personal:

Considero que parte del éxito de este tipo de película se debe a la época navideña, y Netflix sabe sacarle provecho a esto, nos encontramos frente a una película con una premisa que no es nueva, el intercambio de cuerpos, y es muy difícil no recordar mientras la vemos, Un viernes de locos, película del 2003, y también la película Si tuviera 30 (13 going on 30) del 2004, protagonizada por la misma Jennifer Garner. Para darle algo nuevo, simplemente hacen el intercambio múltiple de cuerpos, incluyendo a un perro, que a pesar de las pocas escenas, las consideré de las mejores de la película. Está llena de clichés, madre estricta, hija adolescente que trata de ser todo lo contrario a ella, adolescente nerd, tímido, con un padre que se cree menor que él. A pesar de que las escenas del bebé y del perro fueron mis favoritas (me hubiera encantado una película solo de ellos dos intercambiando cuerpos) me inquietó mucho el hecho de que lo dejaran al cuidado de un vecino un poco raro, algo que muy pocas madres harían. Es una película para verla en familia, sin intentar profundizar en ella, ya que a pesar de todo, los adultos de esta familia no actúan como tal, que terminan siendo opacados por la actuación y carisma de los jóvenes actores Emma Myers y Brady Noon, resaltando la primera, por su carisma y versatilidad, aunque Jennifer Garner no lo hace tan mal, veo más de lo mismo. La dirección es poco exigente, y pareciera no poder manejar el humor.
En conclusión, simplemente cumple con los requerimientos de este tipo de películas, con el plus de tener fantasía, es entretenida, pero olvidable, llena de incoherencias, pero que te sacará algunas carcajadas si la ves sin exigencia. Apta para toda la familia, y para cumplir con su premisa, la unión familiar, que es un mensaje muy importante.

I confess that it is a genre that I do not like and in my house there is no Christmas tradition, so I do not find much emotion in that type of movies, and despite having many things that I did not like, it was entertaining, there were moments when I laughed a lot, it should be noted that it is based on the novel Bedtime For Mommy by Amy Krouse Rosenthal.

Synopsis:

The Walker family made up of 5 members, Jess Walker (Jennifer Garner) a working mother, successful, methodical and demanding, overprotective with her children, Bill Walker (Ed Helms) the father of the family, a man with a midlife crisis, who tries to act as if he were young again, and who feels frustrated for having left his musical career when young, CC Walker (Emma Myers) a rebellious young teenager, who does not follow feminine standards, athlete, the most important soccer player in her institute who dreams of succeeding in the national team, Wyatt Walker (Brady Noon) the applied son, extremely shy, methodical, considered a genius, but who suffers from bullying. My personal opinion:

I think part of the success of this type of movie is due to the Christmas season, and Netflix knows how to take advantage of this, we are facing a movie with a premise that is not new, the exchange of bodies, and it is very difficult not to remember while we see it, Un viernes de locos, movie from 2003, and also the movie Si tuviera 30 (13 going on 30) from 2004, starring Jennifer Garner herself. To give it something new, they simply make the multiple exchange of bodies, including a dog, which despite the few scenes, I considered them the best of the movie. It is full of clichés, strict mother, teenage daughter who tries to be everything the opposite of her, teenage nerd, shy, with a father who believes he is younger than him. Despite the fact that the baby and dog scenes were my favorites (I would have loved a movie just of them two exchanging bodies) I was very worried about the fact that they left him in the care of a somewhat strange neighbor, something that very few mothers would do. It is a movie to see it with family, without trying to deepen it, since despite everything, the adults of this family do not act as such, which end up being overshadowed by the performance and charisma of the young actors Emma Myers and Brady Noon, highlighting the first, for her charisma and versatility, although Jennifer Garner does not do so badly, I see more of the same. The direction is not very demanding, and it seems that it cannot handle the humor.
In conclusion, it simply meets the requirements of this type of movie, with the plus of having fantasy, it is entertaining, but forgettable, full of incoherences, but that will make you laugh a few if you see it without demand. Suitable for the whole family, and to fulfill its premise, family unity, which is a very important message.
