Title: MIGRATION

Another formulaic, yet cute, movie from ILLUMINATION.

A family of ducks living on a pond are visited by a migration flock of ducks. The father is afraid of leaving the safe pond (Croods) and refuses suggestions of joining the migration. Later, he is shamed into changing his mind and they set off on their own. Of course, they have no idea where they are going and end up in what appears to be a utopia for ducks, but is actually a farm raising ducks for food (Chicken Run, Free Birds) They escape and are persued as they attempt to get to Jamaica. Chaos ensues.

There is nothing original about this movie. We've all seen it before. It is entertaining, funny and full of perilous action. Awkwafina is great as Chump, a raggedy pigeon who helps them along their way. Danny DeVito does a bang-up job as Uncle Dan, the elderly family member who reluctantly joins the group on their adventure. Carol Kane kills as Erin, a Heron, who provides shelter during a storm. That entire scene was the best part of the movie.

Fun: We've all seen this movie before. There are some parts of the movie that may be too scary for young children, hence the PG rating, but it's mostly fun.

Preachy: Not at all. It's mostly about Family and stepping out of your comfort zone to enjoy life.
