I'm glad to stop by here again and share with you my thoughts about what I have seen or saw recently, I continue watching Studio Ghibli movies and this time I also present another one from Hayao Miyazaki, I hadn't seen much information about this movie not even in sites that talk about anime, and it's weird because this was supposed to be the movie with which Miyazaki was going to retire, which, as a curious fact says that he is going to retire since the release of Princess Mononoke (which I have on my to watch list), but some time later he released Spirited Away (which got his well-deserved Oscar award), and then he released Howl's Moving Castle, where he also announced that now he was retiring. The third time he announced his retirement along with the release of a film was in 2013 which is the one I'll be talking about today, and well, you know he didn't retire because just last year he released The Boy and the Heron and with it, his definitive retirement. But well, I think I'm getting off topic so I'll go back to today's post and talk about The Wind Rises.

Pero bueno, creo que me estoy desviando del tema así que retomando, en el post de hoy hablare de Se Levanta el Viento.

The Wind Rises tells the life story of Jiro Horikoshi, a Japanese aeronautical engineer who designed the Zero fighter plane, which was used in the attack on Pearl Harbor in World War II, this engineer came to design several aircraft and the film starts from his childhood, until he finished the design of this fighter plane. The film is based on the novel of the same name by Tatsuo Hori. This movie is a mix between the biopic of Jiro Horikoshi and the novel Tatsuo Hori. This is the only film I have seen by Hayao Miyazaki that does not incorporate magical elements and it is quite a serious film in my opinion, it is interesting how we see Jiro trying for years to design a powerful airplane and when he succeeds he sees that his dream became a nightmare for many people, as it was used for war, something that for example made me think a lot. Miyazaki in most of his films shows us his position on the war and although many of his films have the theme of war present, they do not feel like "more of the same" but manages to capture the stories perfectly and well, it is quite understandable that he portrays above all the second world war, since he lived it since he was a child and I sincerely believe that these situations mark you for life. This film is no exception in terms of genius, you can see that Miyazaki really loves what he does and puts a lot of love into it.

Se Levanta el Viento cuenta la vida de Jiro Horikoshi, un ingeniero aeronáutico japones que diseño el avión de combate Zero, el cual fue usado en el ataque al Pearl Harbor en la segunda Guerra Mundial, este ingeniero llego a diseñar diversos aviones y la película empieza desde su niñez, hasta que termino el diseño de este avión de combate. La película a su vez esta basada en la novela del mismo nombre de Tatsuo Hori. Esta película es una mezcla entre el biopic de Jiro Horikoshi y la novela Tatsuo Hori. Esta es la única película que he visto de Hayao Miyazaki que no incorpora elementos mágicos y es una película bastante seria en mi opinión, es interesante como vemos a Jiro intentar por años diseñar un avión poderoso y cuando lo logra ve que su sueño se convirtió en una pesadilla para muchas personas, ya que este fue utilizado para la guerra, cosa que por ejemplo a mi, me hizo pensar mucho. Miyazaki en la mayoría de sus películas nos muestra su postura en cuanto a la guerra se trata y aunque muchas de sus películas tengan presente el tema de la guerra, no sienten como "mas de lo mismo" sino que logra plasmar perfectamente las historias y bueno, es bastante comprensible que retrate por sobre todo la segunda guerra mundial, ya que lo vivió desde muy pequeño y sinceramente creo que esas situaciones te marcan de por vida. Esta película no es la excepción en cuanto a genialidad, se ve que realmente Miyazaki ama lo que hace y le pone mucho cariño.

I must say that I really liked this movie although it left me with a feeling of sadness, I highly recommend that you take the time to watch it, although honestly it is not a movie for everyone and many may find it boring, I really enjoy watching Studio Ghibli movies and I think I can consider myself a fan, I have liked all the ones I have seen and this one was no exception, I didn't want to make any spoilers about the movie, just a little synopsis and my thoughts about it, thank you very much for reading and see you later in another post ❤️

Debo decir que me gusto muchísimo esta película aunque me dejo con una sensación de tristeza, recomiendo mucho que se tomen el tiempo de verla, aunque sinceramente no es una película para todo el mundo y a muchos les puede parecer aburrida, yo disfruto mucho de ver las películas de Studio Ghibli y creo que puedo considerarme una fan, me han gustado todas las que he visto y esta no fue la excepción, no quería hacer nada de spoiler de la película, solo decirles una pequeña sinopsis y mis pensamientos acerca de ella, muchas gracias por leerme y nos vemos luego en otro post ❤️
