Mastermind's review: Madame Web

Despite being the MCU film with the lowest box office revenue, The Marvels did have one advantageous side effect. The public's expectations were significantly reduced when it opened in theaters. As a result, even the evaluation of lesser titles has loosened. Sony is putting more effort into maximizing the cinematic rights of its hero with the release of Madame Web, the fourth spin-off of Spider-Man. One another tale of female empowerment, S.J.'s first feature film Carlson has the unquestionable virtue of not taking itself too seriously. Although Venom was formerly condemned for lacking the depth of other superheroes, this constraint may now be a means of redemption. Additionally, the protagonist's connection with her youthful supporting cast members is sufficiently natural and believable. Unlike Brie Larson, who detested her adolescent sidekicks, Dakota Johnson does not detest her spider ladies.

When watching Madame Web, one gets the impression that they are seeing the creation of a multi-layered, intricate story universe. A series of events culminating in a momentous revelation are hinted at in every new chapter. Since everyone became tired of Kevin Feige's ones, nobody has questioned themselves if they still feel the need.

Following the somewhat disastrous experiment on the supervampire, Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless went back to work on the screenplay. The finished product undoubtedly satisfies the minimal standards for a movie, but it lacks the breathing room necessary to establish the foundation of a new series. If Sony wants to continue pursuing the goal of creating popular games in Spider-Man's shadow, it will need to take significant steps forward. He will need to start by locating stories that would make good casting choices. Jared Leto is at ease playing the tortured part of Morbius, while Tom Hardy possesses the stage presence to make a memorable Venom. Dakota Johnson possesses enough charm to play a part that calls for sensitivity, ignorance, and a certain amount of ambiguity.

In the narrative, she is portrayed as the grudging defender of three kids who are being pursued by a merciless Spider-Man who intends to destroy them. In actuality, both of them were endowed with premonitions by the bite of a legendary and uncommon Amazonian spider. The antagonist wishes to halt the progress of events because he has a recurrent dream in which the three girls murder him. In addition to being diverse enough to respect ethnic quotas, Sidney Sweeney, Celeste O'Connor, and Isabela Merced also have generational series experience, which is quite helpful. Their playful banter plays nicely with their age difference, and they enjoy one other's company. Regretfully, the script always chooses the simplest answers instead of having the guts to explore the most creative concepts.

The villain could be attempting to imitate The Terminator's pattern by always being able to locate escapees. After all, everyone is attempting to alter the present in order to alter the future here as well. Rather, the structure is an action-comedy that culminates in a celebration of sisters. He neglects to mention, though, how the main character travels to Peru while the entire NYPD is searching for her and returns the next week in a cab that was stolen. an overly realistic compromise, especially for a comic book movie, as there isn't enough emotional intensity to back it up. S. J. Carlson squanders every chance he has and arrives at the decisive battle without any drama. Above all, Madame Web is attempting to survive during a challenging period for movies in its genre. Even if he could escape the bloodbath, he won't be lifted up by his lack of bravery.

I've only read and seen negative reviews about this movie, people say it's worse than Morbius.

Regardless of this being a bad movie, I think I'd like it, I'm known for liking bad movies, lol. Like you said, they couldn't do anything to save the movie when the script didn't help at all. Like, Dakota can be amazing, but you need to give her something to work with, you can't expect her to do all the work.
