A SIMPLE THEMATIC REVIEW OF 'THE CORRUPTOR'

I am here watching this movie where the lead actor, a police officer is full of loyalty to his profession. Embedded in this action movie are themes that are relevant to the society.

One dominant theme in the movie is the issue of trust, it's hard to trust people even those amongst the police department. Why some police officers are secretly working for the bad gang, others like Danny Wallace (mark Wahlberg) are trying to bust illegal operations. At a point he busted an operation where over 40 girl were illegally adopted and used for sex trafficking and creating pornographic content. At another instance, we hear nick Chen advising Danny on not to trust anyone at all not even in the police force.

Although it's an old movie released in 1999,but they still reflect a whole lot that happens in the world.

Another dominant theme in the movie was corruption, just like it is happening in our contemporary society, people in high status or government parastatals are full of corrupt activities. Well, just as the name of the movie connotes 'corruptor' simply replays the many corrupt and fraudulent activities in Chinatown. People in power have to do corrupt activities in odre to stay in power or else their enemies or counterparts will overcome them.

This is just the two themes that the movie is about asides others like prostitution, killing, loyalty, honor, respect and so on. Just to chip in the car chase scene by Danny and Chen was a good one, just too much killing from the other side.

It was a good old movie generally.

Thanks for stopping by my blog...
