Sorry Solstice - June 21, 2023 @goldenoakfarm

I woke late on Wednesday morning, at 6:30AM after a bad night with an allergic reaction to something. No idea what, just itching like crazy all over. I was sad to find I was not going outside on the Summer Solstice at all.

I managed to get the laundry folded and that was as far as I got all day.

The sun came in the east windows of the office and worked its way around the house during the day.

I did manage to stay out of bed. I read the book I’d picked up at the Senior Center the day before. Later on, I laid on the couch and half watched the movie and dozed. Then I started Sue Grafton’s A is for Alibi and nearly finished that.

In late afternoon the missing piece of the project I’d started on Saturday arrived. I got it finished and ready to ship out.

I went to bed around 8PM and hoped for a good night’s sleep. I need to go to the bank on Thursday as my new helper won’t be here. I hope I’m in some kind of shape to do it.

My helper friend arrives at 11:30. It’s to be a cool cloudy day so I’m hoping we can get a lot of hay moved and maybe some more rows laid out. Friday it’s supposed to rain all day and looks like Saturday is the same.

I sure hated to be inside on a beautiful day, but it is what it is. Also on Thursday the homeschooling moms from our group decades ago are having a night out and I’m planning on going. I’ve not seen them for many months, since the last one. It looks like everyone is able to come, which is rare.

Oh I wonder what the itching was from. Sorry you couldn't properly enjoy solstice.

I had no clue. It happened again more mildly a few nights later. Knock wood, nothing since.
