My Name.... Movie Review
My Name K-Drama, an action thriller centering on the huge betrayal a girl faced after she witnessed the mysterious death of her father and set off on a quest for vengeance.
This movie stars Han So-Hee, Park Hee Soon, and Ahn Bo-Hyun.
Plot(free of spoilers):
Yoon Ji-woo (Han So-Hee) lived with her father—Yoon Dong-hoon but grew up resenting her father, as her he barely had time to spend with her because of his strange job. This made Ji-woo very distant from her father. Regardless, her father loved her dearly and went to great lengths to ensure her well-being.
One night, Dong-hoon came home and told Ji-woo not to open the door for him or anybody, while Ji-woo tried to understand why her father made such a strange request, she looked through the door peephole and witnessed his murder by a masked person; before she could do anything, the killer had vanished.
The death of Dong-hoon broke Ji-woo into pieces, she was fueled by anger and vengeance.
Ji-woo then sought for assistance from Choi Mu-jin (Park Hee Soon) a bosom friend of her father, and an influential leader of a drug community named Dongcheon. Under the guidance of Choi Mu-Jin, Ji-woo, with a fake identity, infiltrated the police force with the aim of revealing the true identity of her father's killer, while being Mu-jin’s puppet and covering up his drug activities.
After the death of Ji-woo's father, Ji-woo was trained hard by Mu-jin as a ruthless fighter, but he did all of this for his selfish interest. As the story progressed, Ji-woo learned of an even more heartbreaking truth that broke further. The person she had placed the most blind faith in after her father's death was the person who had murdered her father in cold blood.
My Name is action packed, with each episode getting you on an edge and the final episode being the climax of it all.
