Prey; Shouldering the survival of a tribe.

I used to be a lover of different genres of movies and always spend a great time in front of the TV screen but as I get older, I began losing interest in certain genres of movies. Don't mind me, life is boring, and watching some genre would only make things worse.

Today, the only genre of movies that can keep me glued to TV are action and adventure movies. Movies with a good storyline that falls into these two categories are irresistible to me. My love for the genre increases when the movie is shot in the ancient ways when they use manual weapons for combat.

I love the use of guns, grenades, and other modern weapons but I find the ancient combat style more interesting. I have countless times imagined myself throwing axes, shooting arrows, and others, I find these things fascinating.

The movie titled Prey became a must-watch after I saw the trailer, it had everything I love to see in a movie. It was produced in 2022 and I wondered how I am just seeing the movie in 2023.

It was a story of a young girl named Naru who unlike other girls wanted to be a warrior. She is from a clan of hunters and it was her dream to go into the wild with the hunters but her older brother always prevented her from doing so.

He reminds her from time to time of the role of a female child. Preventing her from hunting pisses her off a lot and the only time she gets to do what she loves is when she goes into the woods to collect herbs.

She trained with her dog alone in the woods and while doing her thing one afternoon, she discovered a rare kind of footprint in the woods.

Naru wasn't sure what it is so warned her brother and the other boys about it. Everyone thought it was a Lion but she insisted that it was something bigger than a.

It didn't take long before they began to see dead animals in the woods and even the forest predators came to seek refuge close to the village which cause these animals to attack people from her clan.

The hunters went to take down whatever animal was hurting the people, they successfully captured the lion with the help off Naru who suggested a way to get the job done but didn't witness it because she passed out when she came face to face with a lion.

Naru's brother earned the victory and became the clan warrior. She couldn't get the thought of the footprints she found in the forest so she set out to find answers to what it might be.

She left home in search of answers and when the found out, it was terrifying. A powerful alien with sophisticated in-built weapons owned the footprints and has been responsible for killing animals in the forest.

While searching for Naru in the woods, her clan lost almost all their hunters after they went face to face against the Alien.

Naru paid attention to every fight and discovered the secret to beating the alien invader. Even though she lost her elder brother to the beast, she didn't give up on ending the dominance of the invader.

It wasn't as easy as I described because Naru ended up fighting some humans while trying to end the Invader's existence. It was more of a strategic combat and in the end, she stepped into her brother's as the clan warrior to protect her people.

Everything she learned about the Alien invader helped her to conquer. I love the movie because it is an action movie and how it imitates the ancient style of living.

Naru, the lead character did the unexpected. I knew she was going to play a vital role in the movie but didn't know from the onset that she will be the clan's savior.

Wow Naru is brave. I really admire characters like her.

I have countless times imagined myself throwing axes, shooting arrows, and others, I find these things fascinating.

Haha I thought I was the only one 😅
I have pictured myself fighting with arrors and blades just like Naru and that's why I love these strong and courageous female warriors.
