JM Bullion has been delivering to my house a lot recently. So far, my favorite is the 10oz anonymous bar.. plus they delivered another 10 of just weight..

I think "Why not?" If I had more than 30 One oz. gold coins and have one Five oz. bar would be fun to have. Use it as a paper weight on your desk. Someone asks about it then say it's just a novelty (Genuine gold novelty) bar. HAve some fun.

I have built up a business relationship with my local private coin dealer that I could hold a larger 5 oz. Au bar if I wanted to knowing well I'd be way out of my portfolio size. I've held a very rare 3 oz.Ag Johnson Matthey Massey bar that was already spoken for tagged at private 5 figures so I could say that I held one.

I think it's a pretty good choice. As for your choice on gold over silver, I think that is fine. Everyone has their own preference and goals.
