Peaky Blinders is definitely one of the best shows I’ve ever seen

What’s up, people? So, exactly 2 months ago, I was without internet for a while, and I remembered that I had downloaded the entire Peaky Blinders series to watch. I had tons of friends, both guys and girls, recommending it to me forever, but honestly, I just can’t watch something just ‘cause it’s recommended. I legit need to watch it when it catches my attention. And yeah, I know Peaky Blinders isn’t a new show at all it’s probably like 5 years old or something but being without internet kinda forced me to watch it. So, I’m gonna drop a little analysis and share my thoughts on this amazing mafia series.

At the beginning, I’ll be honest, I didn’t understand a damn thing. Maybe I wasn’t paying attention, or I just had no clue what the hell was happening. But little by little, I started getting into it, and by episode 3, I was hooked. In case you’re wondering, Peaky Blinders is a pretty short series. It might seem long ‘cause it’s got 6 seasons, but each season only has 6 episodes. So, in total, it’s just 36 episodes, which is more than enough for a series. I honestly hate long series. A friend recently tried getting me into Game of Thrones, but nope, I’m not watching it. Too many seasons, too many episodes. I watched it a few years ago and didn’t really like it anyway.

I gotta mention Cillian Murphy’s performance it was incredible! Now I finally get why everyone wanted to be like Tommy Shelby. His personality wasn’t exactly good. I mean, he seemed calm and all, but he was a ruthless, heartless mafia boss, no question. The story is long but really fun at the same time. The “Damn Peaky Blinders” (that’s what they called themselves) was this gang controlling a specific area in England, Birmingham. It wasn’t a huge group, maybe 10 or 15 guys (at the start), but the real key players were the Shelby family, led by Tommy, his brothers, and his aunt Polly.

The acting of each family member was so on point that it made you either love or hate them. I personally got super attached to John Shelby, and it really sucked to see him die so early on. Arthur was a complete nutjob, by far the most violent and aggressive. Then there’s their cousins, including Michael, ugh, I hated him, same with his mom Polly. I know this is just my opinion and pretty controversial, but I didn’t like how they turned against Tommy. Sure, he was losing his mind and doing crazy stuff, but he was the boss, and no one could change that, no matter how hard they tried.

There’s also a strong female presence in the series, which I loved. The wives of each brother played big roles, and of course, there’s Polly (still hate her). The series is set around the 1910-1920s, and you can really see the war’s impact on certain areas. Speaking of the war, Tommy, John, Arthur, Jeremiah, and some others were all in it, which explains why they’re such badasses. Tommy even got a medal for bravery, which is why he’s so respected and feared by everyone in Birmingham.

At one point, things got really intense, and the series just pulled me in. That’s something anyone watching it for the first time should know it won’t grab you right away, but by episode 3 or 4, you’ll be hooked. I watched all 36 episodes in about a week and a half. The overall story is amazing, and I loved the ending. Honestly, I spent the whole series thinking Tommy was gonna die. He came so close, all because I accidentally saw a dumb spoiler online, but it turned out to be fake since he never died. And he couldn’t have, right? Same with Arthur and even Tommy’s sister they couldn’t die either. I LOVED the scene where Michael dies, and the same goes for Polly’s death it was just super satisfying.

Villains and enemies of the Shelbys worth mentioning are definitely Luca Changretta and Oswald Mosley. Luca almost got Tommy killed and ruined every plan the Shelbys had, but he never succeeded. The Shelbys were way too smart. Oswald Mosley, though, was one of the best villains who just pissed you off. He was a total piece of crap, and his political power almost brought Tommy down too, but once again, they couldn’t beat him. And the third character I loved, after Tommy and John Shelby, was Alfie Solomons. The king of the Jews he was also an enemy of Tommy’s, but even he couldn’t take them down, and they ended up working together to take out the Italians and Oswald.

With all that said, I totally recommend Peaky Blinders. A series packed with action, drama, irony, mafia stuff, guns, drugs, alcohol (way too much), cigarettes (also way too much), death, sadness, happiness, and tons of sarcasm. It’s one of those shows that might not seem promising at first, but once you watch it, understand it, and enjoy it, you realize you waited way too long to give it a chance. Peaky Blinders will never disappoint you. And by the way, there’s a movie coming soon to wrap up the ending, which was kinda uncertain.

Definitivamente Peaky Blinders es de lo mejor que he visto en series

Que tal gente? Hace 2 meses exactamente estuve sin internet por bastante tiempo, entonces recuerdo que descargué Peaky Blinders completa para mirarla, he tenido muchos amigos, amigas y personas que me la habían recomendado pero simplemente yo no puedo ver algo si me lo recomiendan, literal ajuro tengo que mirarla cuándo me interese, y sé que Peaky Blinders no es una serie para nada nueva, creo que tendrá sus 5 años o algo así, sin embargo el estar sin internet me hizo verla sí o sí. Así que les dejaré un pequeño análisis y mis pensamientos acerca de esta maravillosa serie mafiosa.

Al comienzo les seré sincero, no entendí casi nada, tal vez no preste atención o simplemente me costaba entender que mierda estaba pasando, pero poco a poco fui entendiendo más y más y ya en el capitulo 3 pude sentirme cómodo viéndola. Por si se lo preguntan Peaky Blinders es una serie bastante corta, y parece que es larga porque tiene 6 temporadas, pero cada temporada apenas tiene 6 capitulos, entonces solo contamos con 36 capítulos en total, más que suficientes para una serie. Odio las series porque las siento demasiado largas, un amigo hace poco me estaba incitando a mirar Game of Thrones y lamentablemente no la miraré, tiene demasiadas temporadas y demasiados capítulos, yo llegué a verla hace algunos años pero no es de mi agrado sinceramente.

Sinceramente tengo que mencionar la excelente actuación de Cillian Murphy, es increíble lo bien que hizo a este personaje y ahora por fin pude entender porque todos querían ser como Tommy Shelby. Y es que su manera de ser no era nada buena, aunque parecía ser un tipo bastante tranquilo y normal, era un mafioso, sin corazón y muy cruel a pesar de todo. La historia es bastante larga y divertida a la vez, los "Malditos Peaky Blinders" (así se autodenominaron) era una banda encargada de una zona específica en Inglaterra, Birmingham. Era un grupo no muy grande, tal vez 10 o 15 tipos (al principio), pero los realmente importantes era la familia Shelby, comandada por Tommy, sus hermanos y su tía, Polly.

La actuación de cada familiar fue crucial para tenerle cariño u odio a los personajes, realmente me encariñé bastante con Jhon Shelby, y me dió bastante tristeza haber visto su muerte tan temprano. Arthur era un completo desquiciado, era el más sanguinario de todos y el más agresivo, y luego vienen los primos y entre esos está Michael, fue el personaje que más odié, al igual que su mamá Polly, y sé que este pensamiento es bastante personal y muy controversial, pero no me gustó que se revelaran contra Tommy, sé que el estaba vuelto loco y empezaba a hacer cosas por locura, pero era el jefe y nadie podía cambiar eso, aunque quisieran.

En la serie también hubo mucha presencia femenina y eso me encantó, entre las más detacadas fueron las esposas de cada hermano, y por supuesto PollY (la odio). La serie fue ambientada entre los años 1910-1920, y se puede notar el deterioro de algunas zonas por la guerra, y noticias actuales de eso mismo, la guerra, que por cierto, Tommy, Jhon, Arthur, Jeremías y algunos otros más estuvieron en la guerra, por eso es que son tan matones, allí aprendieron de todo e incluso Tommy ganó una medalla por valentía, es por eso que es tan respetado y a la vez temido por toda Birmingham.

Por un momento las cosas se pusieron muy tensas y la serie me obligaba a seguir mirando, esto es algo que todo el que vaya a mirarla por primera vez tiene que saber, la serie te enganchará, no desde el primer capítulo, pero seguro que desde el 3 o 4 ya no podrás parar, yo me miré los 36 capítulos en aproximadamente 1 semana y media. La historia en general es increíble, y me encantó el final, sinceramente estuve pensando toda la serie que Tommy moriría, y realmente estuvo a punto, todo fué porque sin querer miré un estúpid spoiler en internet, pero resultó ser falso ya que el jamás murió. Y es que no podía ser de otra manera, lo mismo con Arthur e incluso la hermana de Tommy, ninguno podía morir. AMÉ la escena dónde Michael muere, lo mismo cuándo Polly muere, es sin duda super placentero.

Villanos y gente en contra de los Shelby que merecen una mención son sin duda Luca Changgreta y Oswald Mosley, Luca fue el casi responsable de la muerte de Tommy, y estuvo dañando cada posible plan de los Shelby hasta casi acabar con ellos, pero nunca pudieron, los Shelby fueron muchos más astutos. Y de los mejores putos villanos que te provocaban mucha rabia, fue sin duda Oswald Mosley, es un completo hijo de puta e hizo muchas cosas malas, gracias a su poder político casi también acaba con Tommy, pero una vez más, jamás pudieron. Y el tercer personaje que más amé luego de Tommy y Jhon Shelby fue sin duda Alfie Solomons. El rey de los judios y también fué enemigo de Tomás, pero tampoco pudo acabar con ellos y empezaron a trabajar juntos con el fin de acabar con los italianos y con Oswald.

Con todo esto dicho, sinceramente te recomiendo Peaky Blinders. Una serie repleta de acción, drama, ironía, mafia, armas, drogas, alcohol (demasiado), cigarrillos (demasiado), muertes, tristeza, felicidad y mucho sarcasmo. Es una de esas series que tal vez no parezcan prometedoras, pero una vez las miras, las entiendes y las disfrutas, te das cuenta que tardaste mucho tiempo en mirarla. Peaky Blinders jamás te va a decepcionar, y por cierto, pronto vendrá una película para completar el final, ya que fué bastante incierto.
