Mi vida con los chicos Walter - Reseña [ESP- ENG]
Hace poco se estreno una nueva serie de Netflix: Mi vida con los chicos Walter, una serie juvenil que me llamó la atención desde el momento que anunciaron su estreno. El drama que se estrenó el pasado 7 de diciembre se basa en la novela de Ali Novak (2014), que se publicó por primera vez en Wattpad.
La serie nos cuenta la historia de Jackie (Nikki Rodríguez) una chica de la ciudad de New York, quien en una noche recibe la triste noticia de la muerte de sus padres y de su hermana mayor.
Transcurren 6 meses y Jackie debe irse a vivir con su tutora legal, la mejor amiga de su madre, llamada Katherine Walter(Sarah Rafferty), quien vive en una granja ubicada en Colorado con su esposo George, y nada más y nada menos que sus ocho hijos y dos primos.
Así que con solo 16 años debe afrontar y seguir su vida a pesar de que los seres que más ama ya no están con ella, y además llegar a un lugar donde no conoce a nadie, porque a pesar de que Katherine era la mejor amiga de su mamá, ella solo la había conocido cuando estaba muy pequeña y no recordaba mucho de ella.
De New York a Colorado hay una diferencia muy grande, la granja a la que llega está muy lejos de la ciudad y los lujos que estaba acostumbrada, sin embargo, la dulzura de Katherine y la amabilidad de George hace que los ames desde el primer capítulo de la serie.
Claramente si llega una chica adolescente a una casa de casi puros varones, es obvio que habrá problemas y es allí cuando se forma el triángulo amoroso entre Cole (Noah Lalonde), Alex (Ashby Gentry) y Jackie.
A pesar de todo este drama nuestra protagonista continua muy interesada en sus estudios ya que en un futuro quiere asistir a Princeton, universidad a la que asistió su padre y a la cual ella ha deseado ir desde que estaba muy pequeña. Ella es una joven muy inteligente, centrada y organizada y esto hace que sus notas sigan siendo impecables a pesar del cambio.
Los personajes me gustaron mucho, siento que todos hacen un buen trabajo y se puede decir que si parecen de la edad del personaje que interpretan así que es un punto a favor para la serie.
En parte podemos ver un poco de la historia de los demás personajes, los hermanos Walter y cads historia por separado es muy interesante.
Por otro lado, debo decir que la trama no es aburrida, claramente es predecible y sabes que puede pasar en el siguiente capítulo, pero la verdad no me aburrió en ningún momento.
En cuanto al "romance" entre los tres protagonistas, se puede decir que es el típico chico malo, chico bueno y chica que no sabe por cual decidirse. Siempre escogiendo primero al chico bueno y luego teniendo dudas al respecto.
Personalmente pienso que a pesar de todo lo que ha pasado Cole, se entiende la actitud que va tomando por no saber que hacer con su futuro, no obstante hay que estar claros que es una red flag andante jajaja.
En fin, es una serie a la que le doy un 7/10 la recomiendo si les gusta los dramas adolescentes, y por su puesto quiero saber en los comentarios que Team eres ¿Alex o Cole?

A new Netflix series recently premiered: My Life with the Walter Boys, a youth series that caught my attention from the moment they announced its premiere. The drama that premiered last December 7 is based on the novel by Ali Novak (2014), which was first published on Wattpad.
The series tells the story of Jackie (Nikki Rodriguez) a girl from New York City, who one night receives the sad news of the death of her parents and older sister.
Six months go by and Jackie must go to live with her legal guardian, her mother's best friend, Katherine Walter (Sarah Rafferty), who lives on a farm in Colorado with her husband George, and no less than her eight children and two cousins.
So with only 16 years old she must face and continue her life even though the people she loves the most are no longer with her, and also get to a place where she does not know anyone, because although Katherine was her mother's best friend, she had only met her when she was very young and did not remember much about her.
From New York to Colorado there is a very big difference, the farm she arrives to is far away from the city and the luxuries she was used to, however, Katherine's sweetness and George's kindness makes you love them from the first chapter of the series.
Clearly if a teenage girl arrives to a house of almost all boys, it is obvious that there will be problems and that is when the love triangle between Cole (Noah Lalonde), Alex (Ashby Gentry) and Jackie is formed.
In spite of all this drama, our protagonist continues to be very interested in her studies because in the future she wants to attend Princeton, the university her father attended and where she has wanted to go since she was very young. She is a very intelligent, focused and organized young woman and this makes her grades continue to be impeccable despite the change in her life.
I really liked the characters, I feel that they all do a good job and you can say that they look the age of the character they play so it is a plus for the series.
In part we can see a little of the history of the other characters, the Walter brothers and each story separately is very interesting.
On the other hand, I must say that the plot is not boring, clearly it is predictable and you know what can happen in the next chapter, but the truth is that I was not bored at any moment. o.
As for the "romance" between the three main characters, it can be said that it is the typical bad boy, good boy and girl who doesn't know which one to choose. Always choosing the good guy first and then having doubts about it.
Personally I think that despite everything that Cole has been through, you can understand the attitude he is taking for not knowing what to do with his future, however we must be clear that it is a walking red flag haha.
Anyway, it is a series to which I give a 7/10 I recommend it if you like teen dramas, and of course I want to know in the comments which Team are you Alex or Cole?
