The best movie I have seen so far in 2024: Oppenheimer | OPINION [ENG-ESP]

Oppenheimer is a movie that came out last year, I really wanted to see it, but I had not done it, not for lack of interest, but I wanted to do it when I had time to pay attention to it, because it is a subject that really interests me. The main reason for my interest is that I like topics based on real facts and even more when it is about how the most imposing weapon of mass destruction ever created by mankind was created and that has caused a lot of controversy over time, about whether it was right to create the nuclear bomb. This project was in charge of the physicist Julius Robert Oppenheimer, who in spite of being something very important for his country, the physicist also questions if he was really correct in originating it.

This is a topic that has always been under discussion and the truth is that it is really good to know everything related to the Manhattan Project from the point of view of the creator of the first atomic bomb and that originated the creation by other countries for self-defense, but also in order to have greater power and influence in the global political arena. Before focusing on the film itself, my opinion is that human beings want to self-destruct each other with the creation of this type of weapon, in addition to the impact it can have on the world when used. This production has an interesting theme that leads us to reflect on this issue, hence the success it has had so far, even with many nominations for the Oscars, being more than deserved and is expected to rise that several of the categories in which they have been nominated.

As I said before, Oppenheimer is a film of the year 2023 in the genre of drama and thriller, which touches on such an important topic in the history of mankind, such as the creation of the first atomic bombs that were dropped on two cities in Japan (Hiroshima and Nagasaki) in World War II. The creation and dropping of the bombs was justified by saying that many more people were saved with this action than if hostilities had continued, but it is also true that many people died, it was a total devastation, besides leaving consequences for the populations for several years, such as health affectations due to radiation. Something that I could criticize more to this film is the fact that I would have liked to see more on this subject.

Oppenheimer es una película que salió el año pasado, tenía muchas ganas de verla, pero no lo había hecho, no por falta de interés, sino que lo quería hacer cuando tuviese tiempo de prestarle atención, ya que es un tema que la verdad me interesa. La razón principal de mi interés es que me gustan los temas basados en hechos reales y más cuando se trata de como fue creada el arma de destrucción masiva más imponente que ha creado el ser humano y que ha causado mucha polémica a lo largo del tiempo, de que sí estuvo bien la creación de la bomba nuclear. Este proyecto estuvo a cargo del físico Julius Robert Oppenheimer, que a pesar de ser algo muy importante para su país, el físico se cuestiona también si realmente estuvo corrector en originarla.


Este es un tema que siempre ha estado en discusión y la verdad es que realmente bueno conocer todo lo relacionado del proyecto Manhattan desde el punto de visto del creador de la primera bomba atómica y que originó la creación por parte de otros países para la defensa personal, pero también con la finalidad de tener un mayor poder e influencia en el ámbito político mundial. Antes de centrarme en la película en sí, mi opinión es que los seres humanos nos queremos autodestruir uno a los otros con la creación de este tipo de armas, además del impacto que puede ocasionar en el mundo al ser utilizada. Esta producción tiene un tema interesante que nos lleva a reflexionar sobre este tema, de allí del éxito que ha tenido hasta el momento, incluso con muchas nominaciones a los premios Óscar, siendo más que merecido y se espera que se alcen que varias de las categorías en las cuales han sido nominadas.


Como les dije anteriormente, Oppenheimer es una película del año 2023 del género de drama y Thriller, que toca un tema tan importante en la historia de la humanidad, como es la creación de las primeras bombas atómicas que fueron lanzadas en dos ciudades de Japón (Hiroshima y Nagasaki) en la segunda guerra mundial. La creación y lanzamiento de las bombas se justificó al decir que se salvó muchas más personas con esta acción, que si fuese continuado las hostilidades, pero también es cierto que muchas personas murieron, fue una devastación total, además que dejó consecuencia para las poblaciones durante varios años, como afectaciones de salud por la radiación. Algo que le podría criticar más a esta película es el hecho que me fuese gustado que se tocará más este tema.

The plot of the film Oppenheimer totally captured my attention from beginning to end, even I was left wanting to see much more, a story from the perspective of several people, but I understand that it was more focused from the point of view of the physicist creator of the bomb. The film more than delivers as far as suspense is concerned and more taking into account that this story is already known, but it shows us many details that I did not know before and some that were also ignored, but it did not ruin my experience watching this movie. The nuclear holocaust and the creation of this bomb contributed negatively in the world, and that is where J. Robert Oppenheimer questions if he did the right thing by leading this project.

A story that no one should miss, because every second of the Oppenheimer film is worth it, because it has a lot of important information for you to understand this historical fact that had a great impact on humanity. Christopher Nolan, who apart from directing was also in charge of the script, doing an excellent job in both aspects, commenting relevant information in the dialogues, which even for many may be extensive, but personally it was one of the things why I did not want to miss any detail. Nolan has made some pretty good movies, several of Batman, Interstellar, Dunkirk where the latter tells an important story in the outcome of World War II, being a good movie. Nolan's repertoire is wide, so his work in Oppenheimer I consider to be one of the best of his career and the nomination for best director for the Oscars is more than deserved and I even think he can win the award, he is one of the favorites.

La trama de la película Oppenheimer captó totalmente mi atención de principio a fin, incluso quedé con ganas de ver mucho más, una historia desde la perspectiva de varias personas, pero entiendo que estuvo más centrada desde el punto de visto del físico creador de la bomba. El filme cumple con creces en lo que al suspenso se refiere y más tomando en cuenta que esta historia ya es conocida, pero nos muestra muchos detalles que no conocía antes y algunos que también ignoraron, pero no arruinó mi experiencia al ver esta película. El holocausto nuclear y la creación de esta bomba contribuyó negativamente en el mundo, y allí es donde J. Robert Oppenheimer se cuestiona si hizo lo correcto al liderar este proyecto.


Una historia que nadie se debería perder, ya que cada segundo de la película Oppenheimer vale la pena, porque tiene mucha información importante para que puedas entender este hecho histórico y que tuvo una gran repercusión en la humanidad. Christopher Nolan, quien aparte de la dirección también estuvo encargado del guion, haciendo un excelente trabajo en ambos aspectos, comentando informaciones relevantes en los diálogos, que incluso para muchos pueden ser extenso, pero en lo personal fue una de las cosas por la cual no me quería perder de ningún detalle. Nolan ha hecho películas bastante buenas, varias de Batman, Interstellar, Dunkerque donde está último nos cuenta una historia importante en el desenlace de la segunda guerra mundial, siendo una buena película. El repertorio de Nolan es amplio, así que su trabajo en Oppenheimer considero que es de lo mejor de su carrera y la nominación a mejor director para los Óscar es más que merecido e incluso pienso que puede llevarse el premio, es uno de los favoritos.

Something that really impressed me and I can attribute the success of this film is the cast, where there were some very well known actors and personally I can tell you that they did an excellent job. We have actors like Cillian Murphy playing J. Robert Oppenheimer, Matt Damon as Leslie Groves who was a U.S. military man, who appointed the physicist Oppenheimer as the leader of the Manhattan Project, Robert Downey Jr. as Lewis Strauss, Rami Malek, Josh Hartnett, Tom Conti as Albert Einstein, among many others. Murphy's performance as the main character was really good, and the role fit him very well. In general the cast was very well chosen and I think I have no complaints in this regard, connect with each of the characters, both main and secondary.

Another aspect that stands out in this film is the photography, the scenarios were represented quite similar to what was really known and may have used images in documentaries that were published. The project was developed in Los Alamos (New Mexico), a remote place, since this project was top secret, so the families of the scientists and groups of people who were participating in the creation of the bomb, were isolated in this place. Despite being like a desert or a place quite far away from the big cities, I liked the setting, all very well shown and with good quality.

The visual effects were another aspect that pleased me, especially when the different tests were being done. The shots were generally very good and that is where the great work of the direction Christopher Nolan of the whole team behind the production of the film is attributed. Finally, we have what is soundtrack which is spectacular and the different themes are according to the genre of the film and the moment we were watching. The music was in charge of Ludwig Göransson, and I feel that his work was outstanding, not in vain is nominated for best soundtrack for the most important award in the film industry such as the Oscars.

Final opinion

Oppenheimer is undoubtedly one of the best films of 2023 and this has been in sight after receiving 12 or 13 nominations for the Oscars, being the film that has more nominations and I feel that it will take several of them. It is a well-made film that pleased the public, receiving good reviews, both from professionals and ordinary people, like myself. The script was well done, with the necessary information to understand what we were seeing, giving even more value to the plot that although it was not perfect, I feel that in the more than 2 hours and a half of the film I could give other important information of this historical fact. But, even so, I liked it, that's just an appreciation. The photography, the soundtrack, the cast selection, everything was very well done, that is why it is considered one of the best productions of last year and this was reflected in the box office. Yes, you haven't seen the movie, well, it's time to do it, it's never too late and even more so considering that I did it this year and I don't regret it. If I had to give it a score, I would give it a 9.6 out of 10.

Algo que me dejó realmente impresionado y le puedo atribuir el éxito de este filme es el reparto, donde hubo actores bastante reconocidos y que en lo personal les puedo decir que realizaron un excelente. Tenemos actores como Cillian Murphy interpretando a J. Robert Oppenheimer, Matt Damon como Leslie Groves quien fue un militar estadounidense, la cual designó al físico Oppenheimer como líder del Proyecto Manhattan, Robert Downey Jr. como Lewis Strauss, Rami Malek, Josh Hartnett, Tom Conti como Albert Einstein, entre otros muchos más. Realmente la actuación de lujo de Murphy como el prota fue muy bueno, de lujo y es que el papel le quedó muy bien. En general el cast fue muy bien elegido y creo que no tengo ninguna queja en este aspecto, conecte con cada uno de los personajes, tanto principales, como secundarios.


Otro aspecto que destaca en esta película es la fotografía, los escenarios fueron representados bastantes parecidos a lo que realmente se conocía y puede que se hayan usado imágenes en documentales que fueron publicados. El proyecto se desarrolló en Los Álamos (Nuevo México), un lugar alejado, ya que este proyecto era de alto secreto, por la cual las familiares de los científicos y grupos de personajes que estaban participando en la creación de la bomba, estaban aislados en este sitio. A pesar de ser como un desierto o un sitio bastante alejado de las grandes ciudades, la ambientación me gustó, todo muy bien mostrado y con buena calidad.


Los efectos visuales fue otro aspecto que me agradó, sobre todo al momento de que se hacían las diferentes pruebas. Las tomas por lo general fueron muy buenas y allí es donde se atribuye el gran trabajo de la dirección Christopher Nolan de todo el equipo detrás de la producción de la película. Finalmente, tenemos lo que es banda sonora que es espectacular y los diferentes temas son de acuerdo el género de la película y el momento que estábamos viendo. La música estuvo a cargo de Ludwig Göransson, y siento que su trabajo fue sobresaliente, no en vano está nominada a mejor banda sonora para el premio más importante de la industria cinematográfica como es los Óscars.


Opinión Final


Oppenheimer es sin lugar a dudas una de las mejores películas de 2023 y esto ha quedado en la vista tras recibir 12 o 13 nominaciones para los Óscar, siendo el film que más nominaciones tiene y que siento que se va a llevar varias de ellas. Es una película bien hecha y que le agradó al público, recibiendo buenas críticas, tanto de los profesionales como de las personas comunes, como mi persona. El guion estuvo bien hecho, con la información necesaria para entender lo que estábamos viendo, dando aún más valor a la trama que si bien no fue perfecta, siento que en las más de 2 horas y media de la película se puedo dar otras informaciones importantes de este hecho histórico. Pero, aun así fue de mi agrado, tan solo es una apreciación. La fotografía, banda sonora, la selección del cast, todo estuvo muy bien realizado, por ello es considera de las mejores producciones de año pasado y esto se vio reflejado en la taquilla. Sí, no han visto la película, pues es momento de hacerlo, nunca es tarde y más tomando en cuenta que lo hice este año y no me arrepiento. Si tendría que darle un puntaje, le colocaría un 9.6 de 10.
