Second season of the Dragon House [ENG-ESP]

On June 16 of this year the second season of the series The House of the Dragon was released, as you know this is a production based on the books by George R. R. Martin of the Game of Thrones universe, one of the most exciting and exciting series I've seen. In this review I am going to give you my personal opinion of what I thought of the whole season, since I did not decide to talk individually about the eight chapters that made up this new installment of the history of the Targaryen house.

El 16 de Junio del presente año se estrenó la segunda temporada de la serie La casa del dragón, que como ustedes saben esta es una producción basada en los libros de George R. R. Martin del universo de Juego de Tronos, una de las series más exitas y emocionantes que he visto. En esta reseña les voy a dar mi opinión personal de que me parecio la temporada completa, ya que no decidí hablar individualmente de los ocho capitulos que conformaron esta nueva entrega de la historia de la casa Targaryen.

The series of fantasy, drama, romance and action is a great combination, so when this series was announced and taking into account the success of its predecessor, Game of Thrones, I had a great expectation around this production. I must say that the first season did not seem so good to me, especially because of the big time jumps in the story, so we missed many details of each of the characters. But, of course, I understand that this is due to the fact that the whole literary series cannot be adapted, so the most important facts of the story are shown.

Las series de de fantasía, drama, romance y acción es una gran combinación, por lo que cuando se anunció esta serie y más tomando el éxito de su predecesora, Juego de Tronos, tenía una gran expectativo entorno a esta producción. Debo decir que la primera temporada no me pareció tan buena, sobre todo por las grandes saltos temporales en la historia, por lo cual nos perdiamos muchos detalles de cada uno de los personajes. Pero, claro que entiendo que se debe a que no se puede adaptar toda la serie literia, por lo que se muestran los hechos más importantes de la historia.

The second season of House of Dragon, I found it a little disappointing, even below the first season, as in these we saw very exciting moments and that brought us nostalgia to remember GoT. Yes the worst of the first season was the time jumps, but there were chapters that were at the height of the original series, of course we can not compare because Game of Thrones is on another level, beyond the disappointing for many of the last chapters of the last season and how the series ended for one of the main and most beloved characters.

La segunda temporada de la Casa de Dragón, me pareció un poco decepcionante, incluso por debajo de la primera temporada, ya que en estas vimos momentos muy emocionantes y que nos trajo nostalgia al recordar a GoT. Sí que lo peor de la primera temporada fue los saltos temporales, pero hubo capítulos que estaban a la altura de serie original, claro que no podemos comparar debido a que Juego de Tronos está en otro nivel, más allá de lo decepcionante para muchos de los últimos capítulos de la última temporada y como finalizó la serie para uno de los personajes principales y más queridos.

This second season of HOTD had many unnecessary scenes, but what I can't forgive is the fact of the lack of battles, blood and many more things that we were used to with Game of Thrones. Also that many important scenes and battles that are mentioned in the book were eliminated and for those of us who have read or at least informed of many things of the literary series written by R. R. Martin, we wanted to see it adapted. Additionally, several changes were made from the book to what ended up being shown in the series, but well, we know that not always these productions are so faithful to what is written in the books.

Esta segunda temporada de HOTD tuvo muchas escenas innecesarias, pero lo que no puedo perdonar es el hecho de la falta de batallas, sangre y muchas cosas más que estábamos acostumbrados con Game of Thrones. También que se eliminaron muchas escenas y batallas importantes que se mencionan en el libre y para aquellos que hayamos leído o al menos informados de muchas cosas de la serie literaria escrita por R. R. Martin, la queríamos ver adaptada. Adicionalmente, varios cambios que se realizaron del libro a lo que se terminó mostrando en la serie, pero bueno, sabemos que no siempre estas producciones son tan fiel a lo escrito en los libros.

The plot of the second season of HOTD lacks from my point of view much more action, yes of course we have some battles and some good chapters or at least with moments of quality, but overall the series throughout the season lacks the excitement that we used to see in GoT. Even the final chapter, where much was expected, was more of the same, unnecessary scenes and dialogues that could have been used to show and develop more the story and characters. Rhaenyra Targaryen is one of my favorite characters, but she lacks much more tenacity, I expected more character from her, as we saw her as a young girl in the first season. Daemon is another of my favorite characters that I feel they nerfed throughout the season, so I hope that in the next one his character will have much more relevance than what we saw in these eight chapters.

A la trama de la segunda temporada de HOTD le falta desde mi punto de vista mucha más acción, si claro tenemos algunas batallas y algunos capítulos buenos o al menos con momentos de calidad, pero en general la serie en toda la temporada carece de la emoción que solíamos ver en GoT. Incluso el capítulo final, donde se esperaba mucho, fue más de lo mismo, escenas y diálogos innecesarios que se pudieron haber aprovechado para mostrar y desarrollar más la historia y personajes. Rhaenyra Targaryen es de mis personajes favoritos, pero le falta mucha más tenacidad, me esperaba más carácter de ella, tal como la vimos de joven en la primera temporada. Daemon es otro de mis personajes favoritos que siento que nerfearon en toda la temporada, por lo que espero que en la siguiente su personaje tenga mucha más relevancia de lo que vimos en estos ocho capítulos.

As for the plot, this season was disappointing, although not everything is bad, some things are good. A big advance is that there were no more long time jumps, so we could enjoy and know more of the story, but for those who already know the books, we wanted to see more action. Objectively speaking, I understand that we must separate the literary series (book) with the TV series, we must analyze them separately, but there are things where in the book are described in much more detail, so it is inevitable to make a comparison.

En cuanto a la trama, esta temporada fue decepcionante, aunque no todo es malo, algunas cosas son buenas. Un avance grande es que no se dieron más saltos temporales largos, por lo cual podíamos disfrutar y conocer más de la historia, pero para aquellos que conocemos ya los libros, deseábamos ver más acción. Objetivamente hablando, entiendo que debemos separar la serie literaria (libro) con la de TV, debemos analizarlas por separados, pero hay cosas donde en el libro son descritas con mucho más detalle, por lo cual es inevitable hacer una comparación.

The work of the actors is outstanding, although I feel that some characters were better shown than others. Something I do want to highlight is the photography and special effects. The series has great shots, as well as scenes that immerse us in the world of Game of Thrones and the House of the Dragon. The appearance of new dragons, see the flight, how they throw fires in the few fights we saw. As for the scenery and effects, the series is very well worked, so it is what we can highlight the most. The same I must say about the soundtrack, from my point of view is a point behind the above mentioned, but still remains good.

El trabajo de los actores me parecen destacados, aunque siento que algunos personajes fueron mejor mostrados que otros. Algo en lo que sí quiero destacar es en la fotografía y efectos especiales. La serie tiene grandes tomas, además de escenas que nos hacen sumergir en el mundo de Juego de Tronos y la Casa del Dragón. La aparición de nuevos dragones, ver el vuelo, como lanzan fuegos en los pocos combates que vimos. En cuento a la escenografía y efectos, la serie está muy bien trabajada, por lo cual es lo que más podemos destacar. Lo mismo debo decir de la banda sonora, desde mi punto de vista está un punto por detrás de lo anteriormente mencionado, pero aun así sigue siendo buena.

Opinión final

The characters I can highlight the most are Aemond and Rhaenys, played by Ewan Mitchell and Eve Best respectively. Aemond is a character that since the beginning of the House of the Dragon has had enough development, he went from being a good boy who was humiliated by his brother, he had no dragon, to be one of the most feared of the whole series. The truth is that if I dislike the character, but we must admit that he is one of the best we can find in this second season. The queen that never was, Rhaenys, on the other hand, is very dear to the fans of the black team, a very strong woman who followed her convictions until the end, no matter what will end up happening to her. As for the plot I can conclude that I missed more, there are interesting things, but in general almost all the chapters were boring, many dialogues, some important things to understand the story, but others that did not matter whether to see them or not, they did not contribute much to The house of the Dragon.

Los personajes que más puedo destacar son Aemond y Rhaenys, interpretados por Ewan Mitchell y Eve Best respectivamente. Aemond es un personaje que desde el inicio de la Casa del Dragón ha tenido bastante desarrollo, paso de ser un buen chico que era humillado por su hermano, no tenía dragón, a ser uno de los más temidos de toda la serie. La verdad es que si me cae mal el personaje, pero hay que admitir que el mismo es de lo mejor que podemos encontrar en esta segunda temporada. La reina que nunca fue, Rhaenys, por otro lado, es muy querida dentro de los fanáticos del equipo negro, una mujer muy fuerte y que hasta el final siguió sus convicciones, sin importar lo que le terminará pasando. En cuento a la trama les puedo concluir que me faltó más, hay cosas interesantes, pero en general casi todos los capítulos fueron aburridos, muchos diálogos, algunas cosas importantes para entender la historia, pero otras que daban lo mismo si verlas o no, no aportaban mucho a La casa del Dragón.

The end of the season does not mean that it was bad, but it lacked action, although in the last moments of the episode we were given to understand that this would have for the third season of Dragon House, so despite all the bad things we could see in this second installment, I look forward to the third to see how good it is or not. If I had to give a score to the season it would be a 6.5, it may simply be high for what I say in review, but despite the lack of action, tedious dialogues, there are very good moments within the chapters, plus the scenery, effects and soundtrack I did like, plus the appearance of new dragons and characters.

El final de la temporada no quiere decir que haya sido malo, pero me faltó acción, aunque en los últimos instantes del episodio se nos dio a entender que esto tendría para la tercera temporada de la Casa del Dragón, así que a pesar de todo lo malo que pudimos ver en esta segunda entrega, esperaré con ansias la tercera para ver que tan buena o no es. Sí tendría que colocarle un puntaje a la temporada sería un 6.5, simplemente puede ser alto para lo que digo en reseña, pero es que a pesar de la falta de acción, diálogos tediosos, hay momentos muy buenos dentro de los capítulos, además que la escenografía, los efectos y la banda sonora sí que me gustaron, además de la aparición de nuevos dragones y personajes.
