En estos días no estaba pasando por el mejor momento, el por qué no va al caso en este momento, pero nada mejor que ver una buena película para pasar el rato. August Rush: escucha tu destino es una película de drama y música, una de las mejores que he visto del género. Este filme lo vi hace muchos años, cuando apenas era un chico y la vi disponible y decidí verla nuevamente para compartir mi opinión con ustedes en la comunidad Movies &TV Shows. Más allá de esta ser una producción de drama, también puede ser usada como una inspiración. Esta película también es conocida como El triunfo de un sueño.

August Rush es una película que salió en 2007 y fue dirigida Kirsten Sheridan. El guion estuvo a cargo de James V. Hart. El filme trata principalmente sobre un niño que por cuestiones de la vida queda abandonado en una casa hogar. Todo comienza cuando sus jóvenes padres se conocen en una noche, ambos les gusta la música. Louis Conelly es un guitarrista y cantante irlandés quien tiene una banda y Lyla Novacek es una violonchelista. Ambos se ven que son personas que no están tan a gusto con la vida que llevan, sí hacen lo que les gusta, pero les falta algo más. Estos personajes se conocen, fue amor a primera vista, se gustaron desde un principio y pasaron una noche romántica, donde Lyla quedó embazada de August.

La trama de la película al principio pareciera que fuese la típica historia de dos jóvenes que se enamoran y por circunstancias ajenas a ellos, no pueden estar juntos. En este caso es por el padre de Lyla. También por una triste circunstancia August, hijo de Louis y Lyla, termina en una casa hogar con un niño huérfano que fue dado en adaptación. El niño quiere ser dado en adaptación, pero este no quiere, y la principal razón es que ser encontrados por sus padres. Lo que más me gusta de la producción es que el niño que tan solo tiene 11 años, tiene un don para la música, algo que saco de sus padres. En el fondo August sentía que debía darle señales a sus padres a través de la música para que pudieran encontrarlo y viceversa, porque lo mismo sentía su madre (Lyla). En la película no se da alusión a que el padre supiera la existencia del niño, ya que su amor tan solo duro una noche, ya después nunca más tuvieron un contacto directo.

La historia de esta película nos da a entender que cuando unas personas están destinadas a estar juntos, deben hacer todo lo posible para que esto ocurra. Nunca debemos rendirnos en lo que queremos y August nunca la hizo, a pesar de pasar años solo en una casa hogar, sin saber si fue abandonado por sus padres o no, este aun así los quería y deseaba ser encontrado por ellos. Una historia de mucho drama, pero también con el toque de romance que nunca puede faltar en las películas, pero también algo de suspenso, porque en toda la película cuando finalmente nuestros personajes centrales se iban a encontrar, siempre pasaba algo. ¿Será que finalmente llegaron a estar juntos? los invito a ver el film para ver el desenlace de esta bonita historia. El final no fue lo que me esperaba, pero no me desagradó, me pareció un final bastante bueno, que incluso dejó abierto para una segunda parte, que nunca salió pero sería bueno ver como siguió la historia de August, Louis y Lyla.

I wasn't having the best time these days, why is beside the point at the moment, but there's nothing better than watching a good movie to pass the time. August Rush: Listen to your destiny is a drama and music movie, one of the best I've seen of the genre. I saw this film many years ago, when I was just a kid and I saw it available and decided to watch it again to share my opinion with you in the Movies &TV Shows community. Beyond this being a drama production, it can also be used as an inspiration. This movie is also known as The Triumph of a Dream.


August Rush is a movie that came out in 2007 and was directed by Kirsten Sheridan. The screenplay was written by James V. Hart. The film is mainly about a boy who is abandoned in a foster home. It all begins when his young parents meet one night, both of them like music. Louis Conelly is an Irish guitarist and singer who has a band and Lyla Novacek is a cellist. They both come across as people who are not so comfortable with the life they lead, yes they do what they like, but something else is missing. These characters meet, it was love at first sight, they liked each other from the beginning and spent a romantic night, where Lyla got pregnant with August.


The plot of the film at first seems to be the typical story of two young people who fall in love and, due to circumstances beyond their control, cannot be together. In this case it is because of Lyla's father. Also by a sad circumstance August, Louis and Lyla's son, ends up in a group home with an orphan boy who was given into foster care. The boy wants to be given in adaptation, but he doesn't want to, and the main reason is to be found by his parents. What I like most about the production is that the boy, who is only 11 years old, has a gift for music, something he got from his parents. Deep down August felt that he had to give signals to his parents through music so that they could find him and vice versa, because his mother (Lyla) felt the same way. In the film there is no allusion to the fact that the father knew of the boy's existence, since their love only lasted one night, and after that they never had direct contact.


The story of this movie gives us to understand that when people are destined to be together, they must do everything possible to make it happen. We should never give up on what we want and August never did, despite spending years alone in a group home, not knowing if he was abandoned by his parents or not, he still loved them and wanted to be found by them. A story with a lot of drama, but also with the touch of romance that can never be missing in movies, but also some suspense, because throughout the film when our central characters were finally going to meet, something always happened. Could it be that they finally got to be together? I invite you to watch the film to see the outcome of this beautiful story. The ending was not what I expected, but I did not dislike it, I thought it was a pretty good ending, which even left open for a second part, which never came out but it would be nice to see how the story of August, Louis and Lyla continued.

El cast de esta película estuvo muy bien conformado por buenos actores. Como he dicho en muchas oportunidades, no soy de hacer crítica profesionales sobre el reparto de las películas, simplemente doy mi opinión personal de acuerdo a mi experiencia y la conexión que tenga o no con los personajes que estoy viendo y con la película en general. En muchos casos a veces las actuaciones de reparto no son tan buenas, no porque sean malos actores, sino también se debe tomar en cuenta como son dirigidos y también el guion, es un trabajo bastante arduo para poder llegarle a los espectadores. August Rush fue interpretado por Freddie Highmore, mientras que Keri Russell le dio vida a Lyla y Jonathan Rhys Meyers a Louis. Estos tres realizaron un buen trabajo, pero sobre todo me gustó más interpretación de Keri, me creí mucho más su personaje y conecté mucho con él. No quiere decir que los demás no me hayan gustado, porque no fue así, solo que con ello tuve una mayor conexión con su personaje.

En esta película también tenía la participación de Robin Williams, interpretando a Maxwell Wallace, quien también era conocido como El mago. Este era un personaje malo, que tan solo se lucraba al explotar a niños que trabajan en la calle cantando, algo a lo que dedicó August y por su gran talento era muy apreciado por Wizard y no lo quería dejar ir. Realmente la actuación de Williams fue muy bueno, incluso fue la primera vez que vea que este gran actor interpreta a un personaje malo y lo hizo tan bien como en otras de sus películas memorables, donde el estilo de los personajes era otro, personas de buenos sentimientos. En escucha tu destino también tenemos la participación de Terrence Howard como Richard, quien trabajaba como un consejero del instituto que se encarga de los niños huérfanos o que fueron dados en adopción. Este último es un personaje que tal vez no tiene tanto participación como los demás, pero cumple un papel importante en la historia. En la película también tenemos a Alex O'Loughlin, como Marshall un personaje secundario de menos relevancia, pero es bueno ver como el cast fue bien elegido.

La fotografía de esta película estuvo a cargo de John Mathieson. La historia de August Rush fue representado principalmente en las calles de Nueva York, los escenarios usados fueron maravillosos y la vista la película da gusto verla. Otro punto súper importante es la banda sonora y sin lugar a dudas es una de las mejores cosas que podemos encontrar en la película. Al ser una película del género musical, pues es importante que este punto sea una de las cosas que más destaque dentro del filme. La combinación de la música es bastante especial, ya que tenemos temas de Rock y música clásica. Tan buena fue la banda sonora de Escucha tu destino que fue nominada para los premios Oscars en la categoría de mejor canción original.

The cast of this movie was very well made up of good actors. As I have said in many opportunities, I am not a professional critic about the cast of movies, I simply give my personal opinion according to my experience and the connection I have or not with the characters I am watching and with the movie in general. In many cases sometimes the cast performances are not so good, not because they are bad actors, but also you have to take into account how they are directed and also the script, it is a pretty hard work to be able to reach the viewers. August Rush was played by Freddie Highmore, while Keri Russell gave life to Lyla and Jonathan Rhys Meyers to Louis. These three did a good job, but I especially liked Keri's performance more, I believed her character a lot more and I really connected with him. Not to say that I didn't like the others, because I didn't, I just had more of a connection with their character with it.


In this film also had the participation of Robin Williams, playing Maxwell Wallace, who was also known as The Wizard. This was a bad character, who only profited by exploiting children who work in the street singing, something to which August dedicated himself and because of his great talent he was very appreciated by Wizard and did not want to let him go. Williams' performance was really good, it was even the first time I have seen this great actor playing a bad character and he did it as well as in other of his memorable films, where the style of the characters was different, people with good feelings. In Listen to Your Destiny we also have the participation of Terrence Howard as Richard, who worked as a counselor of the institute that takes care of orphaned children or who were given up for adoption. The latter is a character who perhaps does not have as much participation as the others, but he plays an important role in the story. In the movie we also have Alex O'Loughlin, as Marshall a secondary character of less relevance, but it is good to see how the cast was well chosen.


The cinematography for this film was done by John Mathieson. The story of August Rush was represented mainly in the streets of New York, the scenery used was wonderful and the view of the film is a pleasure to watch. Another super important point is the soundtrack and it is undoubtedly one of the best things we can find in the film. Being a film of the musical genre, it is important that this point is one of the things that stands out in the film. The combination of music is quite special, since we have Rock and classical music themes. The soundtrack of Listen to Your Destiny was so good that it was nominated for the Oscars in the category of best original song.

Opinión Final

August Rush: escucha tu destino es una película que podemos disfrutarla mucho, cuenta con una buena historia, un final que tal vez me estaba ver un poco más pero no me disgustó de un todo, sino que quede con la ganas de conocer más de la trama. La película tiene un excelente cast que hace mucho mejor el filme, posee una buena fotografía, pero sin lugar a dudas lo que más podemos descartar es la música, la banda sonora da un gusto escucharla. La película no es perfecta, en algunos momentos siento que falta algo, pero general me parece buena, al menos a mi me gustó, y si te gustan las producciones de drama y con buena música, pues te la recomiendo. Si tendría que darle un puntuación, le colocaría un 8 de 10.

Final Opinion


August Rush: Listen to your destiny is a film that we can enjoy a lot, it has a good story, an ending that perhaps I was looking forward to see a little more but I did not dislike it at all, but I was left with the desire to know more of the plot. The film has an excellent cast that makes the film much better, it has a good photography, but undoubtedly what we can discard the most is the music, the soundtrack is a pleasure to listen to. The film is not perfect, in some moments I feel that something is missing, but overall I think it's good, at least I liked it, and if you like drama productions with good music, I recommend it. If I had to give it a score, I would give it an 8 out of 10.
