Elemental - It seems that the elements do mix - Review
Hello, hello my movie and TV lovers, I hope you are well! Two months have already passed since the premiere of this movie, but until now my Mathias and I managed to see it, he had been looking forward to see it for a while, so I owed it to him, and today I want to tell you a little of my opinion about it, the film in question is Elements, an animated film by Disney and Pixar, which many have criticized, and the truth is that few have been the positive reviews that I have managed to find of it, here I will tell you what I thought, as I mentioned. I must say that I am a faithful consumer of this film genre, that is, my body grew up, but I still feel like a child while watching these animated films, and Pixar always leaves me a good taste in my mouth with their films, and despite many criticisms, this has been no exception.
Many have said that it is a film that alludes to its title, because it is very basic or elementary, and the truth is that the elements in its complexity, are quite basic, and one of the phrases that are constantly repeated in this film, is that, The elements do not mix, and from there the development of drama in the same, cataloged by many as a copy of the romantic comedies of the 90s, same that I personally love, and, although it has a bit of sentimental story behind that romance that is quite typical of movies, it tells the story of an element that has been feared since time existed, such as fire, and who would imagine that between fire and water there could be a romance, a pretty crazy idea, but in a world where the theme in vogue is diversity and inclusion, it is not something that sounds completely crazy.
Now, speaking a bit about the plot, we meet Ember Lumen, the woman of fire, an overprotected daughter of Bernie and Cinder Lumen, who have taken charge of to build a home and support his family, with a local business dedicated to the inhabitants of the neighborhood of fire, coming from the land of fire, they arrived in Ciudad Elementos and basically no one gave them accommodation because it was precisely Fuego, something that is quite understandable, because we know all the damage that this element can cause, it evaporates the water, consumes the air and burns the earth and its trees. In her attempt to make her father proud and in this way he finally gives her his shop, Ember, a rather explosive fire girl, in one of her outbursts of anger, makes a water pipe explode through which she later appears Wade Ripple, a sensitive water man who is not afraid to cry anywhere and for whatever, polite and fearful, he gives Ember a large ticket, so it is possible that they close the store depicting his father's life. Ember makes Wide understand what she is going through and asks him to please withdraw the fine, and this is where the adventure between these two begins, trying to prevent the closure of the store.
As the name indicates, we can see in the city Elements, that in effect they all have a defined neighborhood, and as they say the elements do not mix, except in the train, where it is very likely that some accidents occur when these elements even touch each other. I must say that I loved the images, how they gave life to each element, also giving typical characteristics of each one, as the sentimental in the beings of the water element, the changeable and versatile of the air that in this case is represented by beings in the form of clouds, for the earth element they went more to nature, trees of all kinds, being these very strong, and as you see they can be affected more than all by fire and water. For the case of fire, unpredictable and somewhat explosive and sentimental beings, a good analogy of fire itself.
As a good lover of romantic comedies, I like that part where one of the protagonists does something crazy to get the attention of the other, and this is found here, certainly romantic comedies are quite predictable and this film does not escape from it, it is a pretty funny movie, with scenes suitable for the little ones, love the fact that it is quite traditional for a children's film, although for many this was a negative point in the plot, as they say that Pixar did not want to risk, and probably so, but the truth is that although predictable, I liked it.
The animation of the city as such, is something that I really liked, the colors used were really quite representative in each of the elements, the ability of the water element to reflect or to let us see through it, is something that is maintained here, as well as how funny water can be, as the anger of fire, and how they represented those dark tones that we find where there has been the presence of fire. It is interesting to see how these two end up being together, being so different, and it is what keeps you attentive to the end of the film, a very emotional ending, with a very nice message, which is reflected in giving the true value to the family, without leaving aside what we want to be in our lives.
Despite the negative reviews that this film has received, as I mentioned, I liked it, I will not say that I loved it, because there are other Pixar films that mark a before and after in my life, in the way I see animated films, but it is certainly a movie that I will watch a few times without getting bored for sure, I give it a 7/10, because although I liked it, I feel that they could have exploited the plot even more, or give it some different twists to create a little more impact. Dos meses han pasado ya del estreno de esta película, pero hasta ahora fue que logramos verla mi Mathias y yo, él tenía muchas ansias de verla desde hace rato, así que se la debía, y hoy quiero contarles un poco de mi opinión al respecto de la misma, la película en cuestión es Elementos, una película animada de Disney y Pixar, que muchos han criticado, y la verdad es que pocas han sido las criticas positivas que he logrado encontrar de la misma, aquí les comentare lo que a mí me pareció, como ya lo mencione. Debo decir que yo soy una fiel consumidora de este género cinematográfico, es decir, mi cuerpo creció pero aún me siento una como niña mientras veo estas películas animadas, y además Pixar siempre me deja un buen sabor de boca con sus películas, y pese a muchas críticas, esta no ha sido la excepción.
Muchos han dicho que es una película que hace alusión a su título, pues es muy básica o elemental, y la verdad es que los elementos en su complejidad, son bastante básicos, y una de las frases que repiten constantemente en esta película, es que, Los Elementos NO se Mezclan, y de allí parte el desarrollo del drama en la misma, catalogada por muchos como una copia de las comedias románticas de los 90, mismas que en lo personal me encantan, y, aunque tiene un poco de historia sentimental detrás de ese romance que es bastante típico de películas, cuenta la historia de un elemento que ha sido temido desde que el tiempo existe, como lo es el fuego, y quien se imagina que entre fuego y agua pueda existir un romance, una idea bastante alocada, pero en un mundo en el que el tema en boga, es la diversidad y la inclusión, no es algo que suene del todo alocada.
Ahora bien, hablando un poco del argumento de la trama, nos encontramos con Ember Lumen, la mujer de fuego, una hija sobreprotegida de Bernie y Cinder Lumen, quienes se han encargado de construir un hogar y sacar adelante a su familia, con un negocio local dedicado a los habitantes del barrio de fuego, provenientes de la tierra del fuego, llegaron a Ciudad Elementos y básicamente nadie les dio alojamiento por ser precisamente Fuego, algo que es bastante entendible, pues sabemos todos los estragos que este elemento puede causar, evapora el agua, consume el aire y quema la tierra y sus árboles. En su intento de hacer sentir orgulloso a su padre y de esta manera este le entregue su tienda por fin, Ember, una chica fuego bastante explosiva, en uno de sus estallidos de ira, hace explotar una tubería de agua por la que aparece luego Wade Ripple, un sensible hombre agua que no le da miedo llorar en donde sea y por lo que sea, educado y temeroso, este le da una gran multa a Ember, por lo que es posible que cierren la tienda que representa la vida de su padre. Ember le hace entender a Wide por lo que está pasando y le pide que por favor le retire la multa, y es aquí donde comienza la aventura entre estos dos, tratando de impedir el cierre de la tienda.
Como su nombre lo indica, podemos ver en ciudad Elementos, que en efecto todos tienen un barrio definido, y como lo dicen los elementos no se mezclan, salvo en el tren, en donde es muy probable que ocurran algunos accidentes cuando estos elementos se tocan tan siquiera. Debo decir que ame las imágenes, el cómo le dieron vida a cada elemento, dándole además características típicas de cada uno, como lo sentimental en los seres del elemento agua, lo cambiante y versátil del aire que en este caso es representado por seres en forma de nubes, para el elemento tierra se fueron más a la naturaleza, arboles de todo tipo, siendo estos muy fuertes, y que como ven pueden ser afectados más que todo por el fuego y el agua. Para el caso del fuego, seres impredecibles y un poco explosivos y sentimentales, una buena analogía del fuego en sí.
Como buena amante de las comedias románticas, me gusta esa parte en donde uno de los protagonistas hace algo loco para llamar la atención del otro, y esto lo encontramos aquí, ciertamente las comedias románticas son bastante predecibles y esta película no escapa de ello, es una película bastante divertida, con escenas aptas para los más pequeños, ame el hecho de que es bastante tradicional para una película infantil, aunque para muchos esto fue un punto negativo en la trama, pues dicen que Pixar no se quiso arriesgar, y probablemente así sea, pero la verdad es que aunque predecible, me gusto.
La animación de la ciudad como tal, es algo que me agrado mucho, los colores utilizados fueron la verdad bastante representativos en cada uno de los elementos, esa capacidad del elemento agua de poder reflejar o poder dejarnos ver a través de él, es algo que se mantiene aquí, al igual que lo divertida que puede llegar a ser el agua, como lo iracundo del fuego, y como representaron esos tonos oscuros que encontramos en donde ha existido la presencia del fuego. Resulta interesante ver como hacen al final estos dos para estar juntos, siendo tan diferentes, y es lo que te mantiene atenta del final de la película, un final bastante emotivo, con un mensaje muy bonito, que se ve reflejado en darle el verdadero valor a la familia, sin dejar de lado lo que queremos ser en nuestra vida.
Muy a pesar de las críticas negativas que ha recibido esta cinta, como ya lo mencione, me gusto, no diré que me encanto, pues hay otras películas de Pixar que marcan un antes y un después en mi vida, en la forma de ver las películas animadas, pero sin duda es una película que me vere unas cuantas veces sin aburrirme seguramente, al lado de mi hijo, y que si eres de los que te gustan las comedias románticas, seguramente te va a gustar también, le doy un 7/10, pues aunque me gusto, siento que pudieron explotar aún más la trama, o darle algunos vuelcos diferentes a la misma, para crear un poco más de impacto. Hola amiga, estoy por ver esta película, siempre habrán diferencias de opiniones, me gusto tu reseña, eso hace que me anime mas a verla y sacar mi propio criterio luego; saludos y bendiciones.
Es así, y es entendible, pues todos los seres humanos somos diferentes, la lógica indica que, aunque tengamos pensamientos y gustos similares, no tiene porque gustarnos lo mismo, incluso en casa, no a todos nos gustan las mismas películas. Saludos y gracias por leerme, bendiciones para ti igual.
This got a lot of bad press because of something related to LBGT or something like that I think? I have it on my Plex list and will probably give it a look because I don't care about any of that political crap. I do love great animation though!
I saw a video on youtube about this movie, where they try to give an LGBT approach to the whole movie, but the truth is that I didn't think so, there is also the fact that many people see what they want to see. I liked it a lot, and if there is any character from the LGBT community, the truth is, I didn't notice it!
yeah, it's tough to know what is real and what isn't in the review world right now because it seems like people are just really excited to be "angry" about just about anything these days. Anything to gain traction on Twitter!

Hola @fmbs, Excelente reseña te felicito, la película es muy divertida y como dices tu la vería una cuantas veces, soy también fan de las películas animadas. Definitivamente la familia es importante, pero sin que afecte nuestra vida.
Así es, la familia es de las cosas mas importantes en nuestras vidas, pero también debemos tener presente que la mayoría de ellos ya ha vivido su vida y tomado sus decisiones, así que nosotros también debemos hacer lo propio.
Hola amiga, esta película para todas las criticas y opines que han salido, para mí fue lo máximo y una historia muy bonita, cargada de grandes mensajes sobre todo la manera como construyeron ese gran mundo de los elementos, quizás encontramos detalles que son algo flojos, la unión de los elementos y otras cosas, pero valió la pena y Disney siempre trabajando en algo bueno. Genial que hayan disfrutado de un gran rato.
Y que continúan saliendo, la verdad es que hemos pasado a ser personas que nos ahogamos en un vaso de agua, por andarle buscando la quinta pata al gallo, tratando de buscar analogías y metáforas en una simple película animada, dejando de lado la verdadera razón de ser de la misma, que es el disfrute de ella.
