Rain, Headlights, 7th Birthday, Real Genius, Star Wars, Grilling, Pokemon - Tuesday
The theme of the month so far has been rain. Another .4" yesterday morning in the gauge and now another .13" this morning. It did move off mid morning and we got a largely dry afternoon.
I got more writing done while it rained in the morning but didn't get enough written until the afternoon.
In a lull in the rain I worked on the headlight on my truck. The left low beam has been super lazy to the right and up so I made some adjustments but still need to check in the dark if it is closer to correct now.
I picked the boys up from school and once home I put on Real Genius, a 1985 movie, which both boys love. It's a classic movie about high tech lasers the likes we have yet to develop even now.
The boys love the popcorn scene at the end the most. I couldn't even try to count the number of times I have watched the movie over my lifetime.
When that was over I scrolled our movie drive and R picked out the original Star Wars. That movie was made in 1977 and is older than I am. I love that my boys love watching "old" movies.
For R's 7th birthday he wanted burgers and fries so I got the fire going in the pit and had to keep building it back up over the evening.
Managed one of my better throws in months. Two triple 19 and a triple 17. I am finally figuring out the exact right way to hold my darts for the best trajectory.
His 7th birthday cake, before it was flipped over. The cake pan from Pampered Chef is great for doing number and letter cakes.
Beefallo burgers grilled on the remaining coals.
Mr 7 year old.
It's wild watching them plow through the cards in the Pokemon packs. They have a special way of doing it where they slide 4 cards to the bottom of the stack then flip them and look through. He now has a lunch box to keep all his cards in, which will be a miracle if he does, but we'll try.
Just a short soak as I was super tired.
Today I take @stryeyz to the airport for her flight back to see the family, I will go fly my paraglider afterwards but I'm thinking Saltese sounds best for now, get boys to and from school, work on story more, and I have to move the many boxes of potatoes to the basement for storage.

The Birthday boy looks so happy
Thank you for helping him to achieve an amazing day!
Glad you like your Pampered Chef pan! I used to sell Pampered Chef, years ago. I love all of my kitchen tools.
I actually saw the first Star Wars movie at a drive-in theater, possibly the only movie I ever saw at such a theater.
@stryeyz grew up with loads of Pampered Chef stuff, I don't remember ever having any in the house growing up, so I have learned how nice the brand is only later in life.
I "saw" Star Wars in the womb in Fresno then I remember seeing Empire at the old tiny movie theater in Bass Lake. The nearest drive-in back then was in the Central Valley, at least an hour drive away.
I spent the summer of '78 living with my older sister in the Tri-Cities and working at a restaurant. I went to the drive-in theater to see the movie with her next-door neighbor, who ended up being my summer boyfriend. My hometown at the time was Ronan, and there was a drive-in theater between there and Polson, but it's gone now. I never watched a movie there; we weren't a movie-going family. It amused me to learn you "saw" the movie while still "in the oven."
Happy 7th birthday to R! Looks like he had a good time.
Birthdays are very happy moments for children and such time is very much remembered later on.
