DRAWING GAL GADOT WITH COLORED PENCILS [ENG-ESP]

Hello friends, I hope you are very well and you are drawing a lot, for my part I made a portrait drawing of the actress Gal Gadot, this beautiful lady who has given life to Wonder Woman in the DC universe. I did this portrait in a traditional way, using colored pencils on Fabriano paper. I have been trying to improve my portraiture skills, because I want to dig a little deeper, there is no better way than constant practice. Then I leave you with the process, I hope you like it.

Hola amigos espero se encuentren muy bien y esten dibujando mucho, yo por mi parte hice un dibujo retrato de la actriz Gal Gadot, esta hermosa dama que ha dado vida a Wonder Woman en el universo de DC. Este retrato lo hice de forma tradicional, utilizando lápices de colores sobre papel Fabriano. He estado tratando de mejorar mis habilidades en cuanto al retrato, porque quiero profundizar un poco más, no hay mejor camino que la práctica constante. A continuación los dejo con el proceso, espero les guste.

PROCESS

Using my usual technique, with guide lines I built a sketch, it consists of some simple figures like an oval that represents the front part of the head to the tip of the nose, then a vertical curved line that gives me the 3/4 orientation of the face and finally two V-shaped lines for the chin. I made them with a 4H pencil to easily erase the lines later.

Usando mi técnica de siempre, con líneas guías construí un boceto, este consta de unas simples figuras como un óvalo que representa la parte frontal de la cabeza hasta la punta de la nariz, luego una línea curva vertical que me da la orientación 3/4 del rostro y por último dos líneas en forma de V para la barbilla. Las realice con un lápiz 4H para luego borrar fácilmente las líneas.

Now using the light pastel colors I begin to draw and shape the skin, I use all the shades I have to make the first layers to blend and then another layer to start taking the first steps in terms of volume. To line the eyes I did not start with color but I used a brown color, this color belongs to a box of school colors, being the hardest tip I use it for lining and shaping the contours.

Ahora utilizando los colores pasteles claros comienzo a dibujar y a darle forma la piel, uso todos los tonos que tengo para hacer las primeras capas para difuminar y seguidamente otra capa para comenzar a dar los primeros paso en cuanto al volumen. Para delinear los ojos no comencé con color sino que utilicé un color marrón, este color pertenece a una caja de colores escolares, al ser la punta más dura lo uso para el delineado y dar forma en los contornos.

The next step is to apply the slightly darker pastels to give the skin more life and also to give it volume. So in the area of ​​the cheeks I put a bit of beige to darken that part and a contrast can be seen when taking a global look at the face. In the same way I work on the lips little by little with pastel colors and I use the white color to lighten some areas. This part was very difficult for me to do, I think it was the part where I spent the most time to avoid ruining the drawing.

El paso siguiente es aplicar los colores pasteles un poco más oscuros para darle más vida a la piel y también para darle volumen. Así en la zona de las mejillas coloco un poco de beige para oscurecer esa parte y pueda verse un contraste cuando se da una mirada global al rostro. De la misma forma trabajo en los labios poco a poco con colores pasteles y utilizo el color blanco para aclarar algunas zonas. Esta parte me costó mucho hacerla, creo que fue la parte donde más dediqué tiempo para no arruinar el dibujo.

When giving the last details to the face I have gone directly to the hair, here I used 4 different colors, between dark brown, light brown, beige for some illuminated areas and terracotta to give it a contrast. I did the hair with long strokes and following the teeth of the lines to the sides and downwards, I made the strokes fast and slow towards the end. Little by little until I covered that entire area, here I also lasted a long time, although not because of the difficulty but because of the extension of the strokes, since it was a lot of hair.

Al dar los últimos detalles al rostro he pasado de forma directa al cabello, aquí utilicé 4 colores diferente, entre marrón oscuro, marrón claro, beige para algunas zonas iluminadas y terracota para darle un contraste. El cabello lo hice con trazos largos y siguiendo el sentido de las lineas hacia los lados y hacia abajo, los trazos los hice rápidos y lento hacia el final. Poco a poco hasta cubrir toda esa zona, aquí también duré bastante tiempo, aunque no por la dificultad sino por la extensión de los trazos, ya que era mucho cabello.

After having applied all the colors that I thought were necessary with a soft brush, I did the usual thing, blending all the colors. As the surface of the paper has pores, the color in each stroke does not enter those pores, so with the brush I blend all the colors and the portrait then looks more realistic, especially the hair. To give it volume we can use mineral oil, which helps to blur the wax pigments of the colors used. In this way, the portrait of Gal Gadot, the beautiful Wonder Woman, has been completed.

Luego de haber aplicado todos los colores que creí necesarios con un pincel suave hice lo de siempre, difuminar todos los colores. Como la superficie del papel tiene poros, el color en cada trazo no entra en esos poros, así que con el pincel difumino todos los colores y el retrato se ve entonces más realista, en especial el cabello. Para darle volumen podemos usar aceite mineral, que ayuda a difuminar los pigmentos de cera de los colores utilizados. De esta manera ha quedado finalizado el retrato de Gal Gadot, la hermosa Mujer Maravilla

This is how the portrait of Gal Gadot was finished, it is a pity that apparently she is no longer part of the cast of DC movies, in the same way she played a great role in giving life to the princess of the Amazons.
