Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Review

Today i was a bit bored and i decided to watch a movie which i hadn't watched before. I remembered Transformers which was released on June 2023 is a movie i heard mixed reviews about and that's why i decided not to go to the cinema to watch it. The time has already come when i can watch it online or even download it. I prefer to watch it online though.

So in general i remember some of my friends that have watched this saying how bad it was. I also, checked the rating from IMDb which is 6.1/10 based on 82k reviews. That must mean that it's really mediocre or bad, but that didn't stop me as i remember myself being young and watching some of those Beast Transformer cartoons, heck i even had toys.

PLOT

So early in the 2 hour long movie, we are introduced to the Maximals another Transformers faction that mostly everyone loves and that is the reason if you ask me that the vast majority of the people went to watch the movie at the Cinema. So the Maximals safeguard a planet and instead of cars, they take the form of wild beasts.

So they also safeguard a transwarp key that the evil plane devouring Unicorn and its Decepticon-like villains are in need of to accomplish the big feast. So the one Maximal tries to buy time while the rest along with the key travel through time and space in order to protect it.

Fast forward to the 90s, we have Noah Diaz a former army veteran who is trying to find a job to help his little brother who is sick. Some events take place and he meets Optimus Prime and his gang where he gets a mission to steal the timewarp key from a museum in return for money.

Soon he meets Elena Wallace, a young museum research assistant who just came out of high school and apparently knows everything from every science you can imagine. Now the bad guys some in place to steal the key, there is a fight, they take the key but hey this is only half of the key so the 2 factions are searching to find the other half, some to destroy the planet and the others to save both their planet and Earth.

What I Liked & What I Didn't

Honestly, the only things i like were some fight scenes and seeing again the beasts. Ahhh and to tell you the truth the CGI was amazing, none can deny it, it's a fact.

Now let's get to the things that i did not like. Noah as a character is mediocre at best, not good acting and a character with no substance just a boring one. Elena's character for some reason is a know-it-all genius with also acrobatic skills while at the same time she just came out of high school. In other words a character close to reality same as the Transformers.

The Maximals even though they are fantastic in terms of CGI are like sub-characters while at the same time literally, the title is "Rise of the Beasts". Instead, it should have been "Rise of Elena". At the same time, we also get to see some kind of Ironman suit for Noah which was also fail if you ask me. Only Mirage was a pretty cool character! In any case, thank god i never paid to watch the movie, it's literally a movie to kill some time while eating your food or something!
