The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse Anime Review

I was recently searching for a new anime to watch. This season has quite a few gams out and one of these gems is the new Seven Deadly Sins series. As a fan of the series, i didn't even know that there was a sequel out. To be honest i didn't even know a sequel existed.

At first, i thought it was a movie or something but as i mentioned above it was a Sequel. Another thing that seemed quite interesting in my eyes after ofc i did my research, is the fact that this will not just be a 12-episode anime and that's it. It already has around 127 Chapters out which felt quite amazing, and after i watched the episodes that are out i then moved on and read the whole manga!

Before i tell you more about the plot let me give you some more generic info in case you are interested. The anime will have 24 episodes in total and just aired this month, October 2023. I think there are 3-4 episodes out already. The studio behind the anime is called Telecom Animation Film and you may know it as it is the same studio behind Lupin and Tower of God.

Plot

So the new story takes place a couple of years after Meliodas and the crew beat the demons and the demon king. It starts with a young boy called Percival who lives with his grandfather on God's finger, which is a remote space above the clouds. Even though he lives happily there his grandpa wants him to start a journey by himself in order to learn about the world and acquire new experiences.

One day a knight visits them and apparently he comes with evil purposes. He tries to kill both Percival and his grandpa and he manages to do so regarding the grandpa but Percival is only badly injured. His grandpa tells him before he dies that the knight was actually his father. Socked by it Percival embarks on a journey to find him and take revenge as well as experience the world and its beauty.

Percival, will meet new friends, discover his magic and realise that the world has a lot of different things to offer as a lot of different people and races living there. Soon he will also learn about the prophecy and his destiny. He is one of the 4 Knights of the Apocalypse who will destroy the world and bring King Arthur down!

A Few Extra Words

Something that i like about the show and the manga is that we get to see a lot of new cool characters like Percival for example and also cool types of magic. It's really interesting at the same time to see old characters coming back as well as how the war and events that took place during that war influenced everyone and changed them for better or for worse.

Regarding the anime, the animation is awesome and the voice acting ofc. Now regarding the manga there are a lot of things going on and in the 127 chapters that i read we get to see many different characters both new and old as some quite amazing battles. It may seem not that "dark" as the prequels but soon things will escalate. I also think there are still many chapters ahead, at least 200-250 chapters before it is complete which can mean another season!
