FALLOUT 2024 Series Review
Yesterday, i decided to watch the new Fallout series which i ended up completing. As a fan of the game and having played most of the games except for the very old ones, i was a bit hesitant when i learned that the game would be serialized.
First and foremost because most of the games serialized are a complete disaster and secondly due to the craziness of the years we live in to destroying mostly everything with the woke agenda. So by watching the trailer, i thought that the protagonist would be a woman which is cool but i also thought that they would add the wokeness element in her.
So i started watching the show yesterday, which has 8 episodes in total and was released on Amazon Prime, which to be honest is doing better work than Netflix. Now i don't know whether you are a fan of the game or not but let's say the plot is that a nuclear bomb or bombs bring a post-apocalyptic era to America and we get to see the aftermath.
We get to see a little bit before the nuclear bombing in order to understand what was going on and to be introduced to some people and fast forward to the aftermath. There we start with a vault and the life in it. Note that there is a time skip of 200 years since the first bombing occurred. Now the interesting thing is that we have let's say 3 different protagonists.
We have Lucy, who was born inside the vault, and has no idea of what's happening above and we get to see her life underground. We have Maximum a young cadet let's say who lives above and is part of the Brotherhood of Steel, which is basically a military faction that tries to gather "old" military stuff and tech and use them to bring order. Finally, we also have Cooper Howard, who is basically a ghoul living for 200 years and works as a mercenary bounty hunter.
Now what i really like about the show is the amazing scenery and set, which is identical to the game and sometimes even better. If you have played the game you will see a lot of different easter eggs, like the bobbleheads, Atomic Command (a mini-game), Stimpacks in the Bathroom, Pip boys, Dogmeat, Automated Turrets, Yao guai, Gulper, Leather Armor, Super Duper Mart, heck even Mister Handy. This by itself is freaking amazing as they did awesome work to bring the vibe of the games.
The acting is also spot on and it's quite interesting that they tried to bring all of the protagonists together through the plot. Of course, it was expected but it was done marvelously. The plot itself is quite interesting and evolves with each episode and the same can be said for the characters that we get to see.
Honestly, it's pretty awesome, i would like more episodes and more fights but that's me. Apparently, there will be a season 2 and hopefully, we won't wait 3-4 years for it. I would give it a 9/10, maybe because i am a fan of the games who knows, if you have watched it, please share your thoughts!
You should check out the older games, curious as to what you'd think of them compared to the changes the modern ones implemented.
define older :P
The top ones for me are Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 4, the previous ones i can't play them due to the too old graphics and the newer ones like 76 are a total disappointment :P
