Captain America: Brave New World 2025 Movie Review
As per usual a new Marvel Movie is out and the next thing you know i am out to go to the cinema and watch it. For over 10 years this has been my thing to do with some expectations like the Marvels (didn't even watch that movie). Now i heard some negative reviews regarding that movie but hell i said why not!
Before i start with the plot a sad thing that i noticed is that when i watched the movie, a couple of days after the movie was released and on the day of "book 2 tickets pay half the price" only a few people attended. In other movies and on same nights like these, people are even on the front row.
Plot
To start with the plot ofc you should have watched most of the previous movies or read the comics in order to understand what's going on. Long story short the Falcon is now the new Captain America. So Sam Wilson after the events with the Winter Soldier is now embracing the role of Cap.
His suit is like a hybrid as he has no superpowers or something, so he holds the shield and has his falcon wings and tools enhanced now with vibranium. Sam also trains a new guy as his sidekick to take the role of the Falcon and also has ties with Isaiah Bradley an ex-Captain America.
At the same time, General Ross or Thunderbolt Ross from the Comics is now the new president of the United States and tries to redeem himself and come closer to his daughter. He invites Sam and his friends along with Presidents of other nations to the White House as they want to pass a new deal regarding what they found after the events of the Eternals which is a material stronger than Vibranium called Adamantium (Wolverine says hi).
The former Captain America along with some random security officers and generals start shooting at the president though and Sam tries to uncover what's really the case behind this as his friend would never do that.
What I Liked and What I Didn't
To start with the good stuff, i liked most of the fight scenes, the CGI and the graphics. It also greatly highlights how Sam is actually human and not a superhuman like the Winter Soldier or both of the former Captain America. Also i really like the fact that they tried to combine this movie and make it seem like a sequel to the 2008 the Incredible Hulk one. Kudos to that.
The second and final thing that i liked was the acting. Everyone was great and huge respect for them. In particular, Isaiah Bradley was freaking awesome. If you ask me they should make a small mini-series with him alone. Everyone though did amazing work. On one hand is to be expected as all of them are getting a lot of money but these days we get to see a lot of actors not acting!
Now besides all the above the film is quite mediocre. I would not say bad but mediocre. We just wanted to see something more which we didn't. Also the plot felt way too predictable and there were no actual twists at all. It was like watching a series episode or something. I won't blame the actors this time they did their best, but the writers and in general people behind it i assume at best that they wanted to play it safe to secure some earnings and that's it. Overall i would say a 6/10.
What's your opinion?
