The Start of the Jedi's Downfall (The Acolyte)

To my understanding, this show is meant to show how the order is beginning to fall... I've seen some comment on the fact that this particular era we're seeing is meant to represent the "height" of the Jedi, but I'm unsure if that's completely the case because the high republic era itself is the height of the Jedi, to my understanding, and this show is at a point in time where the high republic is basically ending... we're showing how the era of the prequels came to be.

I think we have to consider the context of the Jedi during this time period and that they have very little reason to suspect that someone such as Qimir, who appears all bumbly and drunk-like, a complete halfwit, is actually someone very sinister (which many of us suspect he is). Though at the same time, they should also be aware enough to see that he's clearly connected to a crime and shouldn't be let off the hook just like that.

My way of seeing the events is trying to understand what the characters themselves are going through and basing my judgements on that primarily--and also the intention of the story itself. If this was a story about the Jedi being goated and great at everything and they made a dumb mistake like that I think I'd be more critical, but I'm watching this series with the lens in mind of how it's representing the Jedi beginning to spiral downward into the state they're in during the prequels. (Also I must begrudgingly admit I don't watch Star Wars for elite tier writing/storytelling heh.)
