Bajo cero relata la investigación de un policía estatal de Alaska, para aprehender a Hansen, mediante la asociación con una joven mujer que escapó de las garras del asesino. Cindy Paulson (Vanessa Hudgens), de 17 años de edad, es encontrada esposada en un cuarto por un oficial de policía. En la comisaría explica a los detectives que fue secuestrada y violada. Sin embargo, no creen en su historia debido a que es prostituta. El oficial que la encuentra se molesta y pasa su caso a la policía estatal de Alazka. Allí el oficial Jack Halcombe (Nicolas Cage), que venía investigando la desaparición de varias mujeres, comienza a atar cabos.
The Frozen Ground chronicles an Alaska State Trooper's investigation to apprehend Hansen by partnering with a young woman who escaped the killer's clutches. Seventeen-year-old Cindy Paulson (Vanessa Hudgens) is found handcuffed in a room by a police officer. At the police station she explains to detectives that she was kidnapped and raped. However, they do not believe her story because she is a prostitute. The officer who finds her becomes upset and passes her case on to the Alazka State Police. There, Officer Jack Halcombe (Nicolas Cage), who had been investigating the disappearance of several women, begins to connect the dots.

Bajo cero es una típica historia de detectives que, si te gusta el género, te va a encantar. Está basada en un caso real: el asesino en serie Robert Hansen, que entre los años 1970 y 1983 secuestró, violó y asesinó entre 17 y 30 mujeres, en los alrededores de Anchorage, Alaska; el método que usaba era la caza. Sí, las cazaba en el bosque como si fueran animales. Fue arrestado en septiembre de 1983 y fue sentenciado a 461 años sin posibilidad de libertad condicional. Era conocido como el “carnicero panadero”.
The Frozen Ground is a typical detective history that, if you like the genre, you will love. It is based on a real case: the serial killer Robert Hansen, who between 1970 and 1983 kidnapped, raped and murdered between 17 and 30 women, in the surroundings of Anchorage, Alaska; the method he used was hunting. La película presenta cómo el detective Jack Halcombe (Nicolas Cage actúa muy bien y le da realce al papel) investiga la desaparición y la muerte de varias mujeres que parecen estar conectadas a un sitio específico en Alaska. Cuando conoce a la joven prostituta (Cindy Paulson) que logra escapar, comienza a ver más claro y se da cuenta de que el hombre que la atacó es un posible sospechoso, e incluso termina dándose cuenta de su culpabilidad. Sin embargo, no tiene pruebas y, además, el hombre no parece ser el monstruo que busca, ya que Hansen tiene familia y dos hijos. Entonces se une con la joven para poder atraparlo. The film presents how detective Jack Halcombe (Nicolas Cage acts very well and brings enhancement to the role) investigates the disappearance and death of several women who seem to be connected to a specific location in Alaska. When he meets the young prostitute (Cindy Paulson) who manages to escape, he begins to see more clearly and realizes that the man who attacked her is a possible suspect, and even ends up realizing his guilt. However, she has no proof, and besides, the man does not seem to be the monster she is looking for, as Hansen has a family and two children. So she joins forces with the young woman in order to catch him. In the meantime, the murderer tries to get her out of the way. It is not my intention to discover the ending, however the history already tells it.
