Apocalypto is the most shocking adventure I have ever seen
Hello CineTv friends. Today I'm going to tell you about an action adventure movie released in 2006 that I really liked, it's called Apocalypto.
Apocalypto is set in what was the ancient empire of the Mayas. Much of the plot takes place in the jungle, where an indigenous tribe lives peacefully until another group of natives from a more advanced people break into their land.
The protagonist of the story is Jaguar Claw, played by Rudy Youngblood, who is an American actor, dancer and musician of Cree, Comanche and Yaqui descent. Garra, manages to hide his pregnant wife (played by Dalia Hernandez, a Mexican actress) and son deep in a cave during the fighting that occurs between the two native groups, and is captured when he decides to go to help the rest of his tribe.
Jaguar Claw is taken, along with another group of prisoners, to a tribe, supposedly more advanced, where he will be treated as a sacrifice to the gods and thus, according to popular belief, will eliminate epidemics and rain will return. But something unexpected happens, at the moment in which they will give their lives as tribute, a solar eclipse occurs, which is interpreted by the tribe's soothsayer as a sign that the gods are satisfied and do not want more blood. However, the prisoners are not released and now have to fight for their lives in a game of chase in which they will be threatened by the spears and arrows of their enemies.
Garra manages to survive the chase and flees into the jungle, but his adversaries are on his trail, so he has to kill them one by one to get back to his wife and two children.
The director of Apocalypto, Mel Gibson, gave us (in my opinion) a really shocking, realistic and violent film. At the beginning of the movie it seems like you are watching a rather boring documentary, but minutes after the first sequence you can't get out of your seat to see what will happen next. The script is impressive, in fact, the actors spoke in pure Mayan language. The performances, music, photography and makeup are incredible. In fact, when I searched the internet, I saw that this film was nominated for an Oscar Award for Best Makeup and Hairstyling.
You will not fail to be horrified when you see on screen what became of this ancient culture, but it is a film you should not overlook.
Hola amigos de CineTv. Hoy voy a hablarles sobre una película de acción y aventura estrenada en 2006 que me gustó mucho, se llama Apocalypto.
Apocalypto está ambientada en lo que fue el antiguo Imperio de los mayas. Gran parte de la trama se desarrolla en la selva, donde una tribu indígena vive tranquilamente hasta que otro grupo de nativos procedentes de un pueblo más avanzado irrumpen en sus tierras.
El protagonista de la historia es Garra de Jaguar, interpretado por Rudy Youngblood, quien es un actor, bailarín y músico estadounidense, de origen cree, comanche y yaqui. Garra, logra esconder a su mujer embarazada (papel que encarnó Dalia Hernández, actriz mexicana) e hijo en lo profundo de una cueva durante la lucha que ocurre entre los dos grupos nativos, y es capturado cuando decide ir a ayudar a los demás de su tribu.
Garra de Jaguar es llevado, junto a otro grupo de prisioneros, a una tribu, supuestamente más avanzada, allí será tratado como sacrificio para los dioses y así, según la creencia popular, se eliminarán las epidemias y volverá a llover. Pero algo inesperado sucede, en el momento en el cual darán su vida como tributo, un eclipse de sol ocurre, lo cual es interpretado por el adivino de la tribu como señal de que los dioses están satisfechos y no quieren más sangre. No obstante, los prisioneros no son liberados y ahora tienen que luchar por sus vidas en un juego de persecución en las que se verán amenazados por las lanzas y flechas de sus enemigos.
Garra logra sobrevivir a la persecución y huye a la selva, pero sus adversarios le siguen el rastro, por lo que tiene que matar a uno por uno y de esa forma lograr regresar junto a su mujer y sus dos hijos.
El director de Apocalypto, Mel Gibson, nos regaló (a mi modo de ver) un filme realmente impactante, realista y violento. Al principio de la película parece que estás viendo un documental bastante aburrido, pero minutos después de la primera secuencia no puedes levantarte del asiento para ver lo que ocurrirá después. El guión es impresionante, de hecho, los actores hablaban en pura lengua maya. Las actuaciones, la música, las fotografías y el maquillaje son increíbles. De hecho, cuando busqué en internet, vi que este filme fue nominado al Premio Óscar al Mejor Maquillaje y Peinado.
No dejarás de horrorizarte al ver en pantalla lo que fue de esta antigua cultura, pero es una película que no deberías pasar por alto.
