Murder Mystery 2 (2023) || Movie Review.

IMG_20230629_145740.jpg

It is always good and satisfying to feel content after watching a movie, that is always the goal or concerns of every viewer/audience. On the other hand, it is always discouraging to watch a movie and at the end of it, you feel disappointment or you don't feel satisfied. Watching this is very satisfying for me.

As we all know that this movie is the second installment to the previous 'Murder Mystery (2019)'. It was a surprise to me when I saw the first trailer of the second installment. I thought the movie wouldn't have a sequel because of its previous performance. I didn't very much enjoy the first sequel, because it was all chaotic and overemphasized comedy for me when I watched it back then. However, this sequel is a little better than the first sequel for me. In my opinion, if I were to pen down a letter to the producing crew and Netflix, it would be to tell them not produce another sequel to this franchise. That is enough, there is nothing to milk there anymore, don't push your luck anymore.

So let's dive in straight to the review. 'Murder Mystery 2 (2023)' is an action, mystery and comedy movie. It was distributed by Netflix with Adam Sandler among the producing crew. It was directed by Jeremy Garelick and written by James Vanderbilt. It is also the sequel to the 'Murder Mystery (2019)'. This sequel starred Adam Sandler, Jennifer Aniston, Mark Strong, Jodie Turner-Smith, John Kani, Mélanie Laurent with other supporting characters that we may be familiar with.

This movie of course revolves around Adam Sandler (Nick) and Jennifer Aniston (Aubrey) and it was set four years after their previous adventure in Monte Carlo in the initial sequel. Here, we are told of how Nick and Aubrey's lives have changed since their previous adventure. Now, they are full time private investigators who have dived into this particular world to explore it to the fullest and became the best. However, things are not going well for them because their business was struggling to stay afloat.

Not long after, they received a wedding invitation to a private Island from their friend, Vikram "The Maharajah" Govindan. So they agreed to the invitation and decided to use the opportunity to further brand their private investigation company for more solid professional credibility.

Upon arrival, Vikram welcomes them with his soon to be bride, Claudette and then Vikram goes to introduce them to the rest of his important guests. Nick and Aubrey get introduced to Francisco, Vikram's flirty business partner, with Colonel Ulenga, who we now discover that he is now missing his left arm after saving Vikram from an assassination attempt in Mumbai and finally Vikram's bodyguard, Lou.

After they all went to settle in for the wedding to begin. Towards nightfall, the wedding started. Nick and Aubrey encounter Vikram's sister, Saira and Countess Sekou, Vikram's ex with her ladies-in-waiting, Imani. Not long, the celebrations started as the Mc started to introduce the bride and groom. Unfortunately, something happened then it was discovered that Vikram had been kidnapped and taken away from the island. Will Vikram come back in one piece?

My Review And Rating.

This movie can easily bag up negative reviews especially if the viewers were not in the right frame of mind to really enjoy this movie. This movie is supposed to be watched according to how it was made, entertaining, nothing up tight. However, based on the initial sequel one would expect this second installment to be a little more intense and strong, but this movie was made for entertainment and for the family except that the parents will have to restrict their little ones because of extreme use of strong language.

In my opinion, this movie was very much entertaining and very enjoyable for me. I was grinning and laughing the whole time, because it was exciting and interesting. However, I still noticed some flaws in this movie but what kept me engaged with the movie was the cinematography. It was a fantastic and amazing experience for me and at the end of the movie it lightened up my mood. I would say, this is a good way to put an end to Murder Mystery franchise, no sequels please because I don't think I will watch the next sequel if it is produced. I am done.

The storyline of this movie was not that interesting to me because I have watched this storyline multiple times in some other movies. It's a cliché storyline but it was rejuvenated by the cast and the director. If not, Murder Mystery 2 would have been a messy sequel in the box office with lots of negative reviews. One thing I like about this movie is the script /dialogues. It was well written with fantastic, funny mannerism and caricature which made the movie interesting and fun to watch.

The Cast did a fantastic job, they were the piece that held the movie together. All their performances were good, they portrayed their roles well with befitting mannerism that made them all entertaining to watch. The director also did a fantastic job with scene arrangements, action scenes projections and the stunts. The setting and location of this movie is something that I love about this movie. The scenery was beautiful, costumes fantastic, the visuals crystal clear, and the lighting was beautiful.

Rating this movie, I will give it 3.8 out of 5 stars. It was enjoyable and entertaining but it is not a movie I can give 4 stars. If you haven't watched it yet, you should go watch it now and have fun while you do.

How to forget the duo that form these actors, I really enjoyed the first Murder Mystery movie and I'm looking forward to see its sequel, the reviews are diverse but I prefer to get my opinion from my own eyes.

You should see it soon. You would enjoy it since you enjoy the first sequel. Would love to read your review soon. Cheers. Thank you for the visit and comment.

I remember the constant bombardment in the social networks with the first film; it was impossible not to read something about that movie and it was the time of the pandemic and everything was about Netflix releases and I think that helped the promotion, but I didn't fall for that and I haven't seen the first film and I don't want to see the sequel, I have seen many bad movies and series so far this year and I think I'll try to choose better, although I'm sure you'll see me reviewing another disastrous film.

What I will say is that I'm glad you liked it and I agree that Netflix movies are meant to entertain and if this film entertained you then mission accomplished for that streaming service.

I'm sure you'll see me reviewing another disastrous film.

😂😂 I don't argue. It also includes me. Hahah. But amidst the terrible ones we have seen, we also some amazing ones. Honestly, I just hope no more sequel is done because nothing will drag me back to this franchise. Like you said let's do better and select better from henceforth. Their 'entertainment aim' was achieved.

Thank you so much for your comment and support. I appreciate it.

These actors always fill the small screen of the most beloved series. The second part fulfilled my expectations.
