¡Hola amigos! Hoy les traigo la recomendación de una película que pintaba comedia romántica, pero es mucho más profunda que eso. Estoy hablando de Which Brings Me to You. Bueno, sin más preámbulos empecemos por conocer la trama.

Dos adultos se encuentran por primera vez en una boda e intentan tener sexo casual en el armario del salón. Tras el fallido acto, Jane se marcha dejando a Will avergonzado y este sale en su busca para intentar remendar la situación. Ahí comienza un vaivén donde ambos les relatan al otro todas sus relaciones fallidas, desde cómo empezaron hasta que terminaron. En el trascurso dejaran al descubierto sus mayores temores y fracasos.

Two adults meet for the first time at a wedding and attempt to have casual sex in the hall closet. After the failed act, Jane leaves, leaving Will embarrassed, and Will goes off in search of her to try to make amends. There begins a back-and-forth where they both tell each other about all their failed relationships, from how they started to how they ended. Along the way, they reveal their greatest fears and failures.

Tuve la intención de ver esta película la vez pasada, pero al final me decidí por otra. Así que la guardé para hacerlo después y ese momento llegó. Debo decir que me encantó esta película. Tiene un buen ritmo de entrada, arranca con la boda y los protagonistas viéndose por primera vez. Al principio creí que ya se conocían porque intercambiaron miradas y ella le señaló el reloj porque él había llegado tarde. Pero resultó ser que no.

I had intended to watch this movie last time, but in the end I decided on another one. So I saved it for later and that time came. I must say that I loved this movie. It has a good pace right off the bat, it starts with the wedding and the main characters seeing each other for the first time. At first I thought they already knew each other because they exchanged glances and she pointed at his watch because he was late. But as it turned out, they didn't.

Toda esa parte inicial de ella proponiéndole tener sexo y lo que pasó después fue muy cómica. Esa parte terminó por convencerme de seguir viéndola. De hecho, tiene momentos muy divertidos desde el inicio y me gustó que estos dos tuvieran una muy buena química. En esta ocasión me convenció esta pareja, sentí que encajaban muy bien y en este tipo de películas es algo que valoro.

That whole opening part of her proposing to him to have sex and what happened next was hilarious. That part ended up convincing me to keep watching it. In fact, it has very funny moments from the beginning and I liked that these two had a very good chemistry. This time around I was sold on this couple, I felt they fit together very well and in this type of movie that's something I value.

Además, ya conocía a estos actores de otras romcom, la increíble Lucy Hale tan hermosa y carismática como siempre, estos papeles le quedan muy bien y a Nat Wolff también le sientan bien. Nunca los había visto trabajar juntos, pero me gustó el resultado.

Besides, I already knew these actors from other romcoms, the amazing Lucy Hale as beautiful and charismatic as always, these roles suit her very well and Nat Wolff also suits her. I had never seen them work together before, but I liked the result.

Me pareció muy ingenioso el recurso que usaron cuando se contaban sobre sus relaciones pasadas, ya que hacían un flashback al pasado y el que le tocaba escuchar la historia a veces aparecía en el medio de la escena a opinar como si de verdad estuviera ahí observando la situación. Lo sentí un recurso dinámico, le aportó algo interesante a estas escenas.

I thought the resource they used when they told each other about their past relationships was very ingenious, since they made a flashback to the past and the one who had to listen to the story sometimes appeared in the middle of the scene to give his opinion as if he was really there observing the situation. I felt it was a dynamic resource, it brought something interesting to these scenes.

Ahora bien, ¿porqué digo al principio que es mucho más profunda de lo que aparenta de entrada? Al inicio parece muy superficial, pero a medida que avanzamos en la historia llegamos hasta donde se esconde el trauma mayor de estos dos personajes. Me conmovió bastante conocer ambas historias, pude notar su crecimiento y como fueron afianzando su relación. Ellos dos tuvieron una conexión increíble y al final lo sentí bastante significativo, es como que se mostraron lo peor del otro, pusieron todas las cartas sobre la mesa, se dijeron lo que tenían para decir y ante el miedo a fracasar de nuevo, dieron un paso adelante.

Now, why did I say at the beginning that it is much deeper than it appears at first? At the beginning it seems very superficial, but as the story progresses we get to where the major trauma of these two characters is hidden. I was very moved by both of their stories, I could see their growth and how they were strengthening their relationship. The two of them had an incredible connection and at the end I felt it was quite meaningful, it's like they showed the worst of each other, they put all their cards on the table, they told each other what they had to say and in the face of the fear of failing again, they stepped forward.

Hacía mucho tiempo que no me quedaba tan satisfecha con un final de película de este estilo, porque no es romántico de felices por siempre. Es un sí, lo vamos a intentar a ver hasta dónde nos lleva esto pese al miedo. Es un final valiente. Me encantó el mensaje de esta película y lo que me transmitió. Así que mi calificación es más que positiva. Recomiendo esta película a todos. Es ideal para ver algo divertido y significativo al mismo tiempo.

It's been a long time since I've been so satisfied with a movie ending of this style, because it's not a happily ever after romance. It's a yes, we're going to try and see how far this takes us despite the fear. It's a brave ending. I loved the message of this movie and what it conveyed to me. So my rating is more than positive. I recommend this movie to everyone. It is great to see something fun and meaningful at the same time.
