¡Hola amigos! El día de hoy les vengo a compartir mi opinión acerca de esta película que estuve queriendo ver desde que supe de su adaptación, ya que había leído el libro en su momento y es una historia fuerte por lo que tenía ganas de ver cómo la llevarían a la pantalla grande. Les estoy hablando de Romper el círculo.

Hello friends! Today I come to share my opinion about this movie that I've been wanting to see since I heard about its adaptation, since I had read the book at the time and it's a strong story so I was eager to see how they would take it to the big screen. I am talking about It Ends With Us.

Esta película nos cuenta la historia de Lily Bloom, una mujer que está por cumplir su sueño de abrir su propia florería en Boston, el lugar donde los sueños se hacen realidad, como solía decir su amigo Atlas. Allí conoce a Ryle, con quién tiene una conexión desde el inicio y ambos se embarcan en una relación, pero con el correr del tiempo Ryle le irá mostrando otra cara a Lily, una que ella conoce bien por su padre y lo violento que era con su madre, por lo que empieza a rememorar su pasado y las viejas heridas se mezclan con las nuevas. Ella deberá tener la fortaleza suficiente para tomar una decisión que le cambiará la vida para siempre así podrá romper el círculo.

This film tells the story of Lily Bloom, a woman who is about to fulfill her dream of opening her own flower shop in Boston, the place where dreams come true, as her friend Atlas used to say. There she meets Ryle, with whom she has a connection from the beginning and the two embark on a relationship, but as time goes by Ryle will show another side to Lily, one that she knows well because of her father and how violent he was with her mother, so she begins to remember her past and the old wounds are mixed with the new ones. She must be strong enough to make a decision that will change her life forever so she can break the cycle.

Antes que nada, me pareció una adaptación muy buena. Leí el libro hace bastante por lo que no lo tengo tan fresco, pero ver esta película me hizo recordarlo. Por supuesto que hay otros agregados y maneras un tanto diferentes de contar los hechos, pero el impacto sigue siendo el mismo.

First of all, I thought it was a very good adaptation. I read the book quite a while ago so I don't have it so fresh, but watching this movie made me remember it. Of course there are other additions and slightly different ways of telling the facts, but the impact is still the same.

Es súper fuerte ver que, sin quererlo, estas repitiendo los patrones de tus padres cuando siempre dijiste que no harías tal cosa o no serías así. La vida se encarga de demostrarte que es algo que puede sucederle a cualquiera y no por eso debemos cargar con las culpas, más bien debemos tener la entereza suficiente para reconocer que caímos en ello y la valentía para poder salir de allí. Les estoy hablando de las relaciones abusivas, los golpes y la violencia de género.

It is super strong to see that, without wanting it, you are repeating the patterns of your parents when you always said you would not do such a thing or you would not be like that. Life takes care of showing you that it is something that can happen to anyone and that is not why we should take the blame, but rather we must have the fortitude to recognize that we fell into it and the courage to get out of it. I am talking about abusive relationships, battering and gender violence.

Es una película que retrata bien esta problemática y lo lleva con bastante respeto, creo recordar que en el libro es muchísimo más crudo todo. No me emocioné demasiado con esta película, un poco hacía el final, pero sí recuerdo que el libro me impactó y lloré bastante durante la lectura y en cada golpe que recibía Lily, la impotencia y decepción que sentía ante lo que estaba viviendo.

It is a movie that portrays this problem well and carries it with a lot of respect, I think I remember that in the book everything is much more crude. I didn't get too emotional with this movie, a little towards the end, but I do remember that the book had an impact on me and I cried a lot during the reading and at every blow Lily received, the helplessness and disappointment she felt at what she was living.

Lo único malo que le veo es cuando intentan romantizar estas situaciones, pero quitando esto, es una muy buena película y cuenta con grandes actuaciones. Creo que deberían darle una oportunidad, ya que es bueno que se toquen estos temas en la pantalla grande. Es una historia de superación y segundas oportunidades que nos demuestra que se pueden romper los patrones y salir adelante.

The only bad thing I see is when they try to romanticize these situations, but other than that, it is a very good movie and has great performances. I think you should give it a chance, as it is good that these issues are touched on the big screen. It is a story of overcoming and second chances that shows us that you can break the patterns and get ahead.

Además, a pesar de su duración la disfruté bastante, estuvo muy bien estructurada y los flashback al pasado estuvieron bien organizados. Fue una buena producción, se ve el gran trabajo que hicieron y se lo tomaron en serio, salvo por el marketing más romántico que le metieron, pero bueno este es otro tema. Así que quitando algunos detalles es una película que recomiendo mirar sin lugar a dudas.

Also, despite its length I enjoyed it a lot, it was very well structured and the flashbacks to the past were well organized. It was a good production, you can see the great work they did and they took it seriously, except for the more romantic marketing they put in it, but well this is another topic. So, apart from some details, it is a movie that I recommend to watch without a doubt.
