🎬 Movie Review: Find Me Falling [ES/EN]

¡Hola amigos! En el día de hoy les vengo a compartir la reseña de una película de comedia romántica que se encuentra en Netflix y me atrevo a decir que es una de las más lindas que vi este año hasta el momento. La película se llama Al borde del abismo.

Hello friends! Today I come to share with you the review of a romantic comedy movie that is on Netflix and I dare to say that it is one of the cutest movies I saw this year so far. The movie is called Find Me Falling.

Trama - Plot

John Allman es una estrella de rock, pero tras su último álbum que fue un fracaso decidió aislarse del mundo para volver a sus raíces y componer algo que valga la pena. Con este objetivo termina comprando una casa en el Mediterráneo que queda al borde de un acantilado. Muy pronto descubrirá que no fue tan buena idea porque es el lugar elegido por personas sin esperanzas que deciden saltar al abismo para suicidarse. Mientras intenta encontrarse a él mismo, también intentará ayudar a aquellas personas, además de que se reencontrara con un viejo amor que le oculta un secreto.

John Allman is a rock star, but after his last album was a failure, he decided to isolate himself from the world to return to his roots and compose something worthwhile. With this goal in mind, he ends up buying a house in the Mediterranean on the edge of a cliff. He soon discovers that it was not such a good idea because it is the place chosen by hopeless people who decide to jump into the abyss to commit suicide. While he tries to find himself, he will also try to help those people, and he will also meet again with an old love who hides a secret from him.

Reseña - Review

Para serles sincera, me decidí de ver esta película al tratarse de una comedia romántica porque hacía un tiempo que no veía una, aunque no me convencía la trama, pero le di una oportunidad y me encontré con esta joyita que tiene todos los elementos que me gustan en una película de este género.

To be honest, I decided to see this movie because it was a romantic comedy because I hadn't seen one in a while, although I wasn't convinced by the plot, but I gave it a chance and I found this little gem that has all the elements I like in a movie of this genre.

¡Hay música! Ustedes saben lo mucho que aprecio un buen soundtrack y me encanta cuando se componen temas especialmente para las películas cómo fue este caso. Además, la voz de la actriz que hace de Melina (Ali Fumiko Whitney), me resultó bellísima. Adoro la buena música y me gustó mucho la de esta película, con esto no quiero decir que sea un musical porque no lo es, sino que hay partes donde cantan y componen que le dan un toque especial a la trama.

There's music! You know how much I appreciate a good soundtrack and I love it when themes are composed especially for the movies, as was the case here. Also, the voice of the actress who plays Melina (Ali Fumiko Whitney), was beautiful. I love good music and I really liked the music in this movie, with this I do not mean that it is a musical because it is not, but there are parts where they sing and compose that give a special touch to the plot.

La historia de amor también me gustó mucho porque estamos hablando de amores del pasado que no pudieron ser y de repente vuelven y tienen una segunda oportunidad para intentarlo. Esto es digno de ver, aunque en un punto parecía que no iban a llegar a buen puerto.

I also liked the love story a lot because we are talking about past loves that could not be and suddenly they come back and have a second chance to try. This is a sight to see, although at one point it seemed that they were not going to come to fruition.

También me resultó muy divertida, hay una abuelita que me hizo reír mucho con sus ocurrencias sobre la muerte. Me genero ternura y simpatía, es de esos personajes que no tienen mucho protagonismo, pero su papel logra destacar y seguro que me acordaré de ella siempre que piense en esta película.

I also found it very funny, there is a grandmother who made me laugh a lot with her witticisms about death. I felt tenderness and sympathy for her, she is one of those characters that do not have much prominence, but her role manages to stand out and I will surely remember her whenever I think of this movie.

Hay una subtrama interesante con una de las personas que intenta saltar del acantilado, también se me hizo muy linda. Todas las tramas de esta película me gustaron mucho, no sentí que algo estuviera fuera de lugar o no concordara con lo que querían transmitir.

There is an interesting subplot with one of the people trying to jump off the cliff, it was also very cute. I really liked all the plots in this movie, I didn't feel that anything was out of place or didn't match what they wanted to convey.

Por otro lado, no vi venir el giro de trama con respecto al secreto que le guardaba Sia a John y siento que debería haberlo hecho porque era obvio, pero la historia no te da ninguna pista sobre esto hasta que sucede y de ahí viene la sorpresa.

On the other hand, I didn't see the plot twist coming regarding the secret Sia was keeping from John and I feel like I should have because it was obvious, but the story doesn't give you any clues about it until it happens and that's where the surprise comes from.

La verdad es que me pareció una película muy linda, la disfruté bastante. Me gustó todo lo que vi, no tengo ninguna queja. El paisaje es bello, la música es increíble, hay equilibrio entre la comedia y el romance. Es todo lo que una comedia romántica debería ser sin llegar a rozar lo absurdo. Así que está más que recomendada por mi parte.

The truth is that I thought it was a very nice movie, I enjoyed it a lot. I liked everything I saw, I have no complaints. The scenery is beautiful, the music is amazing, there is a balance between comedy and romance. It's everything a romantic comedy should be without bordering on the absurd. So it's more than recommended by me.
