¡Hola amigos! En el día de hoy les vengo a compartir mi reseña sobre una película que está basada en un libro juvenil que fue bastante famoso en su momento y el año pasado se estrenó su película, pero no la había podido ver hasta ahora. Les estoy hablando de Maravilloso Desastre.

Hello friends! Today I come to share with you my review of a movie that is based on a young adult book that was quite famous at the time and its movie was released last year, but I had not been able to see it until now. I am talking about Beautiful Disaster.

En esta película seguimos la vida de Abby, una joven que intenta alejar su pasado de juegos y apuestas en el que su padre la instruyó desde pequeña, y empezar una vida nueva. Para ello se inscribe en la universidad e intenta tener un perfil bajo y recatado, hasta que conoce a Travis Maddox, otro joven que estudia en la universidad y se gana la vida protagonizando peleas clandestinas. Travis y su estilo de vida es todo de lo que Abby desea mantenerse alejada por su propio bien. Sin embargo, muy pronto se darán cuenta que no pueden estar el uno sin el otro, además de que el pasado de Abby vuelve a golpear a su puerta y deberá hacerle frente si quiere comenzar un nuevo camino.

In this film we follow the life of Abby, a young woman who tries to leave behind her past of gambling and gambling in which her father instructed her since she was a child, and start a new life. To do so, she enrolls in college and tries to keep a low and demure profile, until she meets Travis Maddox, another young man who studies at the university and makes a living starring in underground fights. Travis and his lifestyle is everything Abby wants to stay away from for her own good. However, they soon realize that they can't be without each other, and Abby's past comes knocking at her door again and she must face it if she wants to start a new path.

Después de ver esta película quedé entre maravillada y horrorizada a partes iguales, me pareció todo muy absurdo, pero dentro de todo estuvo bastante entretenida. Así que se puede decir que la termine disfrutando, aunque no podía dejar de pensar en lo tonta que fue toda la trama.

After watching this movie I was between amazed and horrified in equal parts, I found everything very absurd, but all in all it was quite entertaining. So you can say that I ended up enjoying it, although I couldn't stop thinking about how silly the whole plot was.

Ambos personajes, tanto Abby como Travis son bastante tóxicos entre sí, pero entre ellos se entienden o eso parece. Sin dudas ella es la chica perfecta para él y viceversa, porque aunque Abby intenta alejarse de su pasado apostador es algo para lo que es muy buena y disfruta hacer, el problema está en que ella todavía es menor de edad entonces es ilegal todo lo que implique juegos de casino. Travis es el típico chico malo y mujeriego que se acuesta con todas hasta que la conoce y decide que ella es diferente al resto.

Both characters, Abby and Travis are quite toxic to each other, but they understand each other or so it seems. Without a doubt she is the perfect girl for him and vice versa, because although Abby tries to get away from her gambling past it is something she is very good at and enjoys doing, the problem is that she is still underage so anything that involves casino games is illegal. Travis is the typical bad boy and womanizer who sleeps around until he meets her and decides that she is different from the rest.

También está la mejor amiga de Abby, Mer, que está saliendo con el primo de Travis, Shepley. Estos tienen su cuota de toxicidad también, creo que no se salva ninguno en esta película. La verdad es que me sorprendió que hicieran tan bobos a los personajes. Sin dudas es una película enfocada para un publico más adolescente, aunque hay bastantes escenas picantes.

There's also Abby's best friend, Mer, who is dating Travis' cousin, Shepley. These have their share of toxicity as well, I don't think any of them are spared in this movie. I was actually surprised they made the characters so goofy. Undoubtedly it is a movie focused on a more teenage audience, although there are quite a few racy scenes.

De todos modos, es una película que me entretuvo y me sirvió para desconectar un rato la mente viendo algo bastante absurdo pero efectivo en su propósito. Además, este año se estrenó una segunda parte que quizá termine viendo para saber qué tal lo llevan mis tóxicos favoritos jaja.

Anyway, it's a movie that entertained me and served to disconnect my mind for a while watching something quite absurd but effective in its purpose. Also, a sequel was released this year that I may end up watching to see how my favorite toxic people are doing haha.
