🎬 Movie Review: A Quiet Place. Day One [ES/EN]

¡Hola amigos! Hoy les vengo a compartir mi reseña acerca de la película Un lugar en silencio: día 1. Hace rato que la quería ver y finalmente pude hacerlo, soy una gran fan de estas películas así que iba con bastantes expectativas, veremos si las pudo llenar.

Hello friends! Today I come to share with you my review about the movie A Quiet Place: Day One. I've been wanting to see it for a while and finally I was able to do it, I'm a big fan of these movies so I went with high expectations, let's see if I could fulfill them.

En esta ocasión nos encontramos en el inicio del apocalipsis alienígena en la ciudad de Nueva York. Nuestra protagonista es una mujer enferma de cáncer en etapa terminal que está de visita en la ciudad para ver una obra de teatro y comer pizza en el lugar donde solía ir con su padre. Sin embargo, todo queda trunco cuando estos seres empiezan a caer del cielo al mejor estilo meteorito y comienza el caos. En su intento por escapar de estas criaturas se encuentra con Eric, un joven estudiante que está muy asustado y sufre ataques de pánico. Ambos, junto al gato terapéutico de la mujer, deberán encontrar un modo de sobrevivir y salir de la ciudad antes de que sea demasiado tarde.

This time we find ourselves at the beginning of the alien apocalypse in New York City. Our protagonist is a terminally ill woman with cancer who is visiting the city to see a play and eat pizza at the place where she used to go with her father. However, everything is cut short when these beings begin to fall from the sky in the best meteorite style and chaos begins. In her attempt to escape from these creatures, she meets Eric, a young student who is very scared and suffering from panic attacks. The two of them, along with the woman's therapeutic cat, must find a way to survive and get out of the city before it's too late.

Como les decía, iba con muy buenas expectativas acerca de esta película, y me gustó, pero para serles sincera esperaba mucho más. La historia estuvo buena, me mantuvo en suspenso toda la película, de verdad terminé muy tensionada. Aunque la gran culpa de esto fue del gato, me daba angustia de solo pensarlo, no pongan animales en este tipo de películas porque sufro. Pero sentí que se quedó corta en cuanto al verdadero inicio del apocalipsis, más bien no fue el día 1 de toda la ciudad, sino un día en la vida de Sam, esta mujer enferma que ya no tenía nada que perder, lo único que ansiaba era recorrer los lugares donde iba con su padre.

As I said, I had very good expectations about this movie, and I liked it, but to be honest I expected much more. The story was good, it kept me in suspense the whole movie, I really ended up very tense. Although the cat was to blame for this, it gave me anguish just thinking about it, don't put animals in this kind of movies because I suffer. But I felt that it fell short in terms of the real beginning of the apocalypse, rather it was not day 1 of the whole city, but a day in the life of Sam, this sick woman who had nothing to lose, the only thing she longed for was to go to the places where she went with her father.

Me hubiera gustado saber más acerca de esta invasión, el actuar del gobierno y las autoridades, los momentos de búsqueda y rescate. Todo me da a entender que era un ataque esperado o al toque se dieron cuenta de que estás criaturas se manejan por el sonido por eso les decían a los ciudadanos que guardarán silencio. Pero, también sentí que hacían más ruido del que deberían, incluso con las pisadas al caminar y las criaturas a veces no aparecían.

I would have liked to know more about this invasion, the actions of the government and the authorities, the moments of search and rescue. Everything gives me to understand that it was an expected attack or at the touch they realized that these creatures are driven by sound that's why they told the citizens to keep quiet. But, I also felt that they were making more noise than they should, even with their footsteps as they walked and the creatures sometimes did not appear.

Las actuaciones me gustaron bastante, esperaba ver esta película en gran parte por sus actores, me daba curiosidad ver a nuevos personajes inmersos en este caos que conocimos en sus antecesoras. Al gato lo ame, pero me daba muchísimo estrés verlo jajaja. La historia estuvo buena a nivel humano, me gusta ver el vínculo de unión que se forma en estos momentos donde no te queda otra que aferrarte a desconocidos para seguir con vida. La amistad entre Eric y Sam fue muy linda, se apoyaron mutuamente y se dieron fuerzas.

I liked the performances quite a lot, I was expecting to see this movie largely because of its actors, I was curious to see new characters immersed in this chaos that we knew in its predecessors. I loved the cat, but it gave me a lot of stress to see him hahaha. The story was good on a human level, I like to see the bond of union that is formed in these moments where you have no choice but to cling to strangers to stay alive. The friendship between Eric and Sam was very nice, they supported each other and gave each other strength.

Fue una buena producción, aunque de verdad siento que se quedó un poco corta. Me gustó mucho más ver el inicio del apocalipsis que mostraron en la segunda película. De todos modos, disfruté de esta película, hacía mucho que no sentía tanta tensión, me mantuvo entretenida y atenta a cualquier movimiento que sucediera. Así que le doy el visto bueno.

It was a good production, although I really feel it fell a little short. I liked much more to see the beginning of the apocalypse that they showed in the second movie. Anyway, I enjoyed this movie, I haven't felt so much tension in a long time, it kept me entertained and attentive to any movement that happened. So I give it a thumbs up.
