Hoy vengo a recomendaros otra película super buena: Miller's Girl. Si aprecias la literatura esta película es para ti, está protagonizada por: Jenna Ortega como Cairo Sweet y Martin Freeman como el profesor Miller. Fue estrenada en septiembre 2024 y es del género comedia dramática.

La historia se trata de un profesor de literatura y su alumna, entre ambos hay un chispazo fogoso literario.

Pude conectar muchísimo con esta película, no es un tipo de película que te hará llorar, sin embargo, me sentí tan identificada con el personaje que sí, al final lloré.

Recuerda que no vengo aquí a hacer spoiler ni a criticar la película, tan solo encontrarás mi experiencia al verla.

Today I come to recommend you another super good movie: Miller's Girl. If you appreciate literature this movie is for you, it stars: Jenna Ortega as Cairo Sweet and Martin Freeman as Professor Miller. It was released in September 2024 and is of the comedy drama genre.

The story is about a literature professor and his student, between them there is a fiery literary spark.

I was able to connect a lot with this movie, it is not a type of movie that will make you cry, however, I felt so identified with the character that yes, in the end I cried.

Remember that I am not coming here to make spoilers or to criticize the movie, you will only find my experience watching it.

En ocasiones se me hacían los escenarios tan perfectamente bellos que parecía fueran recreados por Inteligencia Artificial.

Para que tengas mejor experiencia en la película recomiendo que la escuches en su idioma original, la traducción al español en cuanto a lenguaje es muy mala, mata la película, le quita mucha expresión, prefiero la voz real y ver los subtítulos.

Es toda una experiencia escuchar la narración de Jenna Ortega su timbre de voz es agradable, áspera, ronca, sexy. La película comienza con ella haciendo una breve reflexión sobre su vida (Cairo): "Una chica gótica buscando sentido a su vida en un pueblo aburrido".

Cairo Sweet conoce al profesor Miller como escritor, luego como profesor, ella leyó su libro y ella se identifica con sus escritos, al comienzo de clases ella siempre llega temprano para poder disfrutar mas tiempo y a solas con el profesor, mientras platican de "literatura" se van conociendo y enganchando.

Cairo vive sola en una gran mansión, sus padres son abogados muy acaudalados, generalmente viajan y la dejan sola.

Winnie es amiga de Cairo, una chica alegre, divertida, me parecía muy insinuante hacia los profesores, sin embargo ella es lesbiana y lo hace solo por bromear.

El profesor Miller se siente muy intrigado por la personalidad de Cairo, está casado con Beatriz, una escritora que me parece que tiene problemas con el alcohol,es una escritora muy ocupada que no le presta mucha atención al profesor, sin embargo, hay escenas algo picantes como pareja que siempre son interrumpidas por alguien, generalmente del trabajo de Beatriz.

Me es casi imposible no asociar a Cairo con un personaje que interpretó en otra película de mucho éxito como: Merlina (Wednesday), ya que ambas tienen esa misma personalidad gótica, misteriosa, profunda e inteligente.

A partir del minuto 15 ya te sientes enganchado y quieres seguir avanzando en la trama.

To have a better experience in the movie I recommend that you listen to it in its original language, the Spanish translation in terms of language is very bad, it kills the movie, it takes away a lot of expression, I prefer the real voice and watch the subtitles.

It is quite an experience to listen to Jenna Ortega's narration, her voice timbre is pleasant, rough, husky, sexy. The film begins with her giving a brief reflection on her (Cairo) life: “A goth girl looking for meaning in a boring town”.

Cairo Sweet meets Professor Miller as a writer, then as a teacher, she read his book and she identifies with his writings, at the beginning of classes she always arrives early to enjoy more time alone with the professor, while they talk about “literature” they get to know each other and hook up.

Cairo lives alone in a large mansion, her parents are very wealthy lawyers, they usually travel and leave her alone.

Winnie is Cairo's friend, a cheerful, funny girl, she seemed to me very insinuating towards the professors, however she is a lesbian and does it just for teasing.

Professor Miller is very intrigued by Cairo's personality, he is married to Beatriz, a writer who seems to me to have a problem with alcohol,she is a very busy writer who doesn't pay much attention to the professor, however, there are somewhat racy scenes as a couple that are always interrupted by someone, usually from Beatriz's work.

It is almost impossible for me not to associate Cairo with a character she played in another very successful movie: Wednesday, as they both have that same gothic, mysterious, deep and intelligent personality.

From the 15th minute you feel hooked and want to keep moving forward in the plot.

Hay escenas entre Winnie y Cairo que no voy a hacer spoiler pero te van a gustar, definitivamente la tienes que ver, también como hablan, el lenguaje que usan ¡Jajaja! ¡Qué bárbaro! ¿Así hablan las jovencitas ahora? En mis tiempos a esa edad todavía jugaba muñecas.

Me encantó ver la química e interacción de Cairo y Miller es muy profunda y a la vez divertida, esos dos parecen hacerse el amor con las palabras y la mente - Recuerdos - Conversaciones muy profundas y estimulantes, que para nada son vulgares aun estén usando un lenguaje muy directo. Leyendo el lenguaje corporal de Miller hasta se muerde los labios, está cautivado por ella, la admira y ella idiotizada pues también lo admira.

No tardó mucho en invitarla a salir a uno de sus antros de literatura, ella recita párrafos de su libro y este quedó anonadado, no es para menos, su voz es hermosa para narrar definitivamente.

I loved watching Cairo and Miller's chemistry and interaction is very deep and funny at the same time, those two seem to make love with words and mind - Memories - Very deep and stimulating conversations, which are not vulgar at all even if they are using a very direct language. Reading Miller's body language, he even bites his lips, he is captivated by her, he admires her and she, idiotized, also admires him.

It doesn't take him long to ask her out to one of his literary dens, she recites paragraphs from his book and he is stunned, no wonder, her voice is beautiful to narrate definitely.

Nota curiosa: Jenna Ortega sí pestañea en esta película ¡Jajaja!.

Pude aprender de esta película lo mucho que mella una relación en no dar tiempo para atender a tu pareja en todo (Aunque ya escribí esto en un post anterior de mi experiencia personal) lo mucho que mella una relación cuando uno de los dos minimiza al otro allí es justamente cuando el amor se va durmiendo en la agonía de la muerte lenta, mueren los sueños, mueren las ganas.

Minuto 45 y yo estuve respirando entrecortado...

¡Tienen que ver el primer beso!

Mientras su esposa (Beatriz) se mofa de que Miller dejara de ser escritor para ser profesor, Cairo lo motiva de hermosa manera que recupere su musa.

Aquí vemos nuevamente por qué las relaciones de pareja se duermen en el sueño de la muerte y no habrá resurrección que lo regrese a la vida.

Cuando Miller se da cuenta que está enamorado de Cairo y que se le está metiendo hasta por las venas, intenta apartarla de su vida y que él es casado, esto le rompe el corazón a Cairo.

While his wife (Beatriz) scoffs that Miller gave up being a writer to become a teacher, Cairo beautifully motivates him to get his muse back.

Here we see again why relationships fall asleep in the sleep of death and there will be no resurrection to bring him back to life.

When Miller realizes that he is in love with Cairo and that she is getting into his veins, he tries to cut her out of his life and that he is married, this breaks Cairo's heart.

Luego que Miller rompiera el corazón de Cairo ella se convierte en una persona muy triste, lúgubre y resentida, con mucho dolor emocional, nada muy lejos de nuestra realidad en las relaciones, puedo ver reflejadas mis experiencias en ella, cuando alguien tritura tu corazón sin compasión y solo significaste un juego.

Me parece que es algo muy real, una relación entre alguien joven y un hombre mayor, este siempre fingirá lo que siente, jugará con sus emociones, es más experimentado o ¿Quién juega con quién? Hoy en día está muy de moda entre las jovencitas buscarse un "sugar Daddy" maduro, se dice que es un hombre que se convierte en un gran proveedor, sin embargo Cairo en esta historia solo hablaba de amor sincero, él fue demasiado estúpido para no valorarlo, ahora, sigamos recordando que el Profesor Miller es casado.

Nada peor que una mujer herida tramando su venganza, puso en riesgo el empleo del profesor Miller y también su matrimonio.

Deseé ver un poco más, pero aun así es perfecta... Al final pude conectar con la película, identificarme, cuando te enamoras de alguien que te rompe el al,a, que trituran tu corazón en una licuadora, que acaba con tus ilusiones y te cambia por completo, porque se ha quedado con lo mejor de ti: Tu inocencia.

Nowadays it is very fashionable among young girls to look for a mature “sugar Daddy”, it is said that he is a man who becomes a great provider, however Cairo in this story was only talking about sincere love, he was too stupid not to value it, now, let's keep remembering that Professor Miller is married.

Nothing worse than a wounded woman plotting her revenge, she put Professor Miller's job at risk and also his marriage.

I wished I saw a little more, but it's still perfect.... In the end I could connect with the movie, identify myself, when you fall in love with someone who breaks your al,a, who crushes your heart in a blender, who ends your illusions and changes you completely, because he has taken the best of you: Your innocence.
