¡Hola amigos de Hive!

Hace unos días ví una película por Netflix que me dejó bastante pensativa, me la recomendaron y no dude en verla. Y hoy, he querido dar mi reseña y opinión de la misma. Se trata de "Así en el cielo como en el infierno", una película franco-estadounidense del año 2014 de misterio/suspenso.

A few days ago I saw a movie on Netflix that left me quite thoughtful, it was recommended to me and I didn't hesitate to watch it. And today, I wanted to give my review and opinion of it. It is "As in Heaven as in Hell", a 2014 French-American mystery/suspense film.

La película comienza con una entusiasta y dígamos que bastante intensa jóven que busca respuesta y continúa con el trabajo de su padre (fallecido). Ella cree firmemente en el trabajo de su padre quiénes muchos cosideraron loco, por suicidarse. La película, empieza con una corta entrada en Irán dónde Scarlett (protagonista) se adentra a una construcción a punto de ser demolida dónde haya una estatua de un toro negro con un lenguaje capaz de traducir al arameo un escrito de una lápida con secretos ocultos en un museo de Francia.

The film begins with an enthusiastic and let's say quite intense young woman searching for answers and continuing the work of her (deceased) father. She firmly believes in the work of her father, who many considered insane, for committing suicide. The film begins with a short entry in Iran where Scarlett (protagonist) enters a building about to be demolished where there is a statue of a black bull with a language capable of translating into Aramaic a writing on a tombstone with hidden secrets in a museum in France.

Después de grabar y tomar fotos, el espacio empieza a ser demolido y por cuestiones de segundos tiene una visión de su padre ahorcado y entre el humo y rocas de las detonaciones logra salir siguiendo la voz del iraní que la adentro a dicho sitio. De vuelta a Francia, va en busca de su amigo y exnovio George, para que la ayude con las traducciones. Él, incrédulo al principio se niega, pero luego se sumerge en dicha búsqueda de la tan mencionada piedra filosofal que otorga poderes de inmortalidad y hace todo posible según mitos y leyendas.
Empiezan a descifrar los escritos en la lápida y se dan cuenta que deben bajar y la mejor forma de hacerlo es adentrándose en las catacumbas de Francia, descubriendo así un pasaje secreto que nadie había transitado en años.

After filming and taking pictures, the space begins to be demolished and for a matter of seconds she has a vision of her father hanging and amidst the smoke and rocks from the detonations she manages to get out following the voice of the Iranian who takes her to the site. Back in France, she goes in search of her friend and ex-boyfriend, George, to help her with the translations. He, incredulous at first, refuses, but then plunges into the search for the much mentioned philosopher's stone that grants immortality powers and makes everything possible according to myths and legends.
They begin to decipher the writings on the tombstone and realise that they must go down and the best way to do so is to enter the catacombs of France, thus discovering a secret passage that no one has passed through for years.

Para ello, van a un tour a las catacumbas dónde un misterioso jóven les dice que busquen a Papillon, y les asegura que él los llevará abajo a buscar lo que ellos estén buscando. Llegan al sitio y al mencionar la palabra "tesoro", Papillon acepta.
Se adentran a dicho lugar, que no es para nada apto para claustrofóbicos. Y cada vez que van bajando encuentran pasadizos y señales muy extrañas.
Como por ejemplo, un piano con exactamente la misma tecla rota que tenía George y su hermanito (fallecido) cuando eran niños y un celular antiguo que no para de sonar, y cuando Scarlett lo toma alguien responde detrás diciendo: ¿por qué no me contestas las llamadas?

To do so, they go on a tour of the catacombs where a mysterious young man tells them to look for Papillon, and assures them that he will take them down to find what they are looking for. They arrive at the site and at the mention of the word "treasure", Papillon agrees.
They enter the place, which is not at all suitable for the claustrophobic. And every time they go down they find very strange passages and signs.
For example, a piano with exactly the same broken key that George and his little brother (deceased) had when they were children and an old mobile phone that keeps ringing, and when Scarlett picks it up, someone answers behind it saying: "Why don't you answer my calls?

Llega un punto en el que bajan y siguen bajando y hay un cartel que dice algo como: "Los que pasen esta puerta dejen la esperanza atrás", lo que hace énfasis en que esa es la puerta hacía el "infierno". Encuentran el tesoro, la supuesta piedra filosofal, pero para salir todo está al revés, deben seguir bajando y en el camino van retrocediendo pasando por los mismos sitios que tuvieron que transitar para llegar. Es irónico, raro y un tanto confuso, pero tenían que bajar para subir. En el camino pasan cosas espeluznantes, mueren personas, y Scarlett debe enfrentar sus miedo y culpas, en toda la travesía comprende que la única forma de salir es aceptando su culpa o más bien sus pecados, como no haberle contestado esa última llamada a su padre antes de suicidarse, así como también los demás tuvieron que aceptar sus pecados para poder encontrar la salida.

There comes a point where they go down and they keep going down and there's a sign that says something like: "Those who pass through this gate leave hope behind", which emphasises that this is the gate to "hell". They find the treasure, the supposed philosopher's stone, but to get out everything is upside down, they have to keep going down and on the way they go backwards, passing through the same places they had to pass through to get there. It is ironic, strange and somewhat confusing, but they had to go down to go up. On the way down, creepy things happen, people die, and Scarlett must face her fears and guilt, and throughout the journey she understands that the only way out is to accept her guilt or rather her sins, like not having answered that last phone call to her father before committing suicide, just as the others had to accept their sins in order to find the way out.

La película tiene muchas referencias a lo que describe el infierno de Dante más las referencias de la película, te ponen a pensar que el propio infierno es el que vivimos cuando cargamos nuestras propias culpas y vivencias del pasado que nos condenan, y solo cuando logramos liberarnos de ello es cuando encontramos la salida y salvación de nuestro propio ser.

Es una película bastante interesante si te gusta el género y el cuál recomendaría ver a su criterio para que sacara su propias conclusiones!

The film has many references to what Dante's hell describes plus the references in the film, they make you think that hell itself is the one we live in when we carry our own guilt and past experiences that condemn us, and only when we manage to free ourselves That is when we find the way out and salvation of our own being.
It is a quite interesting film if you like the genre and which I would recommend seeing at your discretion so that you can draw your own conclusions!
