I've watched my fair share of weird movies and consider them a large waste of time so I will probably skip this entirely based on your post. Tell me though, why is there always a "Frank" in the weird ones? Frank was also the bunny guy in Donnie Darko which I actually thought was a cool film albeit really fucking odd.
Swiss Army Man was filed in the same boat for me even though some people thought it was masterful, I couldn't watch the whole film.

I largely avoid them too. In a way they're a bit unsettling. I wish it wasn't that way for the film industry here. I wish good stories could be told without them feeling like they need some weird twist or narrative that gets them noticed at festivals but ignored by the rest of the world.
You're also right about the name Frank. It always ends up being the weirder ones!
That is so it - why do they need to make it weird, is it for shock factor? I personally don't get it.
I knew a Frank once, he was weird but harmless. I could however see him taking up one of those roles. How odd.
One of my best friends is called Frank. He is somewhat boring and definitely harmless ( wouldn't call him weird ) and we go back a long time ( almost 3 decades ).
There will always be exceptions I suppose 😁 I only know one so I suppose he's not the best representation of the average Frank lol
That's what I felt about the ( in my opinion ) over rated, Academy Award winning 'Parasite'. I remember really feeling disappointed by the extreme (unnecessary let's shock the audience and win prizes kind of ) ending. I watched it in cinema and liked a big chunk of it but the ending spoiled it for me.
Agreed! Seems a lot of films do this these days in order to get themselves seen. If it doesn't have some sort of odd twist or some shock value, then it's just another indie flick that they feel won't get noticed.
