The face of love - Reinventando el amor [ESP-ENG]

Rara vez me pasa que veo una película por casualidad, sin saber de qué se trata y justo eso me pasó con "Reinventando el amor" o su nombre original en inglés "The face of love".

Comencé a ver esta pelicula para darle una oportunidad 🫢, ya que cuando se trata de películas románticas por lo general vemos aquellas donde los protagonistas son jóvenes. Nunca ví quienes actuaban, solo me puse a verla y ya, pero asumí que eran mayores por su portada y al reconocer al actor Ed Harris, quien tiene un doble papel, pero su principal es ser un artista llamado Tom.

Desde las primeras escenas en "The face of love" verás el drama romántico y sin duda me dejó queriendo ver más y saber que pasó, ya que inicia con los recuerdos de Nikki, una viuda que no logra superar la muerte de su esposo y la necesidad de tenerlo a su lado. Nikki es interpretada por la actriz Annette Bening, quien sin duda hace una buena actuación, hasta me hizo creer que se volvería en una asesina o era una psicópata jajajaja.

It rarely happens to me that I see a movie by chance, without knowing what it is about and that's exactly what happened to me with "Reinventing love" or its original name in English "The face of love".

I started watching this movie to give it a chance 🫢, because when it comes to romantic movies we usually watch those where the protagonists are young. I never saw who they were acting, I just started watching it and that's it, but I assumed they were older because of their cover and recognizing the actor Ed Harris, who has a double role, but his main role is being an artist named Tom.

From the first scenes in "The face of love" you will see the romantic drama and it certainly left me wanting to see more and know what happened, as it starts with the memories of Nikki, a widow who can't get over the death of her husband and the need to have him by her side. Nikki is played by actress Annette Bening, who without a doubt gives a good performance, she even made me believe that she would become a murderer or was a psychopath hahahaha.

Está película trata de algo que sumamente improbable, sin embargo es parte del drama. Nikki es viuda y mientras lucha por evadir hundirse en los recuerdos de su esposo, conoce a alguien que es exactamente igual a él en lo físico y algunos gustos. Esto la llevará por un camino nada saludable, al punto de querer aferrarse al pasado y perder la cordura.

En desenlace es aún más triste que la realidad y llegué a creer que Nikki en medio de su trastorno podía llegar a asesinar a Tom 🤣🙊, él no sabía nada sobre su asombroso parecido al esposo muerto de Nikki, así que te invito a descubrir cómo se entera y si Nikki acaba con él o no jajaja, es broma. Está película me gustó ya que mantuvo el drama y el romanticismo maduro de principio a fin e incluso a los que llevamos años casados nos hace pensar en qué será llegar a la vejez solos.

Algo que llamó mi atención fue la actuación de mi queridísimo Robin Williams, eso sí fue una sorpresa verlo allí y aunque su actuación fue breve y no tuvo un gran papel, hizo muy bien su parte, como siempre solía ser, un gran actor.

This movie is about something that is highly improbable, yet it is part of the drama. Nikki is a widow and as she struggles to avoid sinking into the memories of her husband, she meets someone who is exactly like him physically and in some ways. This will lead her down an unhealthy path, to the point of wanting to cling to the past and lose her sanity.

In denouement is even sadder than reality and I came to believe that Nikki in the middle of her disorder could get to murder Tom 🤣🙊, he knew nothing about his uncanny resemblance to Nikki's dead husband, so I invite you to find out how he finds out and if Nikki ends up with him or not hahaha, just kidding. I liked this movie as it kept the drama and mature romance from beginning to end and even for those of us who have been married for years it makes us think about what it will be like to reach old age alone.

Something that caught my attention was the performance of my beloved Robin Williams, it was a surprise to see him there and although his performance was brief and he didn't have a great role, he played his part very well, as he always used to be, a great actor.
