The Family Plan ~ My Movie Review
If you are looking for a movie to watch with your family and friends this weekend, then I have got one for you, "The Family Plan" this movie is filled with suspense and comedy, and it will help relax your mind while you enjoy and bask in the laughter of every scene.
The Family Plan is a 2023 American action comedy film directed by Simon Cellan Jones and written by David Coggeshall. Its stars are Wahlberg, Michelle Monaghan, Zoe Colletti, Van Crosby, Saïd Taghmaoui, Maggie Q, and Ciarán Hinds.
The Family Plan is about a man named Dan, who was once a former elite government assassin, but left the job after he realized that he needed a life away from that kind of life later he met his wife and decided that he needed a new life, so he started a new life, hiding his old life and background from his family.
To hide his identity and that of his children away from those who he was sure were going to look for him and come after him in the future, he stayed away from any technology and hid traces of his existence but unfortunately he couldn't keep hiding for too long as his enemies from his past track him down, first in the grocery store where he went to get few things with his 10-month-old baby.
He realizes that his cover has been blown, Dan packs his wife, teen daughter, teen son, and 10-month-old baby into their minivan and takes off on an impromptu cross-country road trip to Las Vegas but unfortunately, his enemies had mapped out good plans to track him down which they eventually did.
When his family got to know about his past background, they decided that it was best they left him because he had put their lives in danger but unfortunately, they mistakenly got trapped in the bait that was kept for them. Now, Dan is faced with the choice between losing his wife and kids or coming back to take his job and work for the elite government as an assassin while his family walks out alive with no harm but on the condition that he must agree to never contact his family ever again.
Now, I would say the storyline is very unique, if you have watched this movie, you would agree with me and if you have not, I bet you when you finally do, you will also agree because it and the characters played their role well especially their 10-month-old baby, God I was intrigued by the baby's humor in the film and how he kept putting humor in the right places making me giggle at intervals, even my neighbours could hear my laughter from their rooms.
Although from the onset, the title of the movie kinda gave me a different kind of impression, I thought it was about a family setting doing their thing and all I didn't even think that it would have an action scene in it but when I watched it and it did, I was impressed, I guess the title is an example of "Don't judge a book by its cover" because I am sure I would have deleted it, immediately it came because of the name but for some kind of reasons, I decided to just go through it before deciding on what to do with it and I am glad I did not.
So, yeah I am recommending this movie to you all, I hope you love it as much as I did when I saw it and still do love it.
