A Review on Elemental (the animation)

A Review on Elemental
To set everything straight I’m just writing how I felt about the animation and what I think it meant to me. So this is like my personal perspective. You may have felt different or you may feel different when you see it. But first I’ll like to talk about the movie a little for those who haven’t seen it.

THE SUMMARY
The animation starts with Bernie and Cindie (Ember’s Parents) moving into Element City. Was hard for them to get a place to stay since they are fire ( there are other elements like cloud, earth, and water and fire doesn’t exist very well with those).
They found an abandoned area far from the main city and decided to rebuild it and make it their home. Cindie (was pregnant at the time)

After a while she gave birth to Ember and Bernie (Ember's dad) made part of the building a shop (a family legacy) and called it THE FIREPLACE which he wanted to pass down to Ember when he felt she was ready.

Over the years Bernie grew old and weaker and he gave Ember chances to handle customers seeing that he wasn’t strong enough to do all that for long.

Ember lost her cool and almost exploded the shop because of a pushy customer. Bernie called her aside and told her to always take breaths and try to connect with the customer and when she masters that she’ll be ready to take over. Few years later she still hadn’t mastered it.

Bernie asked Ember to conduct a sale at the shop and that if she did it successfully she would be ready to take over. Unfortunately she lost her cool and ran into a space to literally blow off some steam and her explosion caused a leak in the pipe.

Which made a city inspector (he is water) who wrote them tickets that can get the shop permanently shut down. She tried to explain how it couldn’t happen and her days will be heartbroken buh he already sent the report through to the department before he heard her.

She went home sad that they’ll be shut down in a week her father told her why they left fire city. That they lost everything so he left everything to get a better life for them because their home was destroyed by a storm.

She became friends with the inspector because they both wanted to save the shop. They found a solution but it was only temporary and Ember didn’t really want to inherit the shop. She loved making things out of molten glass but did not want to hurt her father by going away so she put her dream on hold and pursued her fathers dream. She thought she they fixed the water problem and they got the shop back only for it to have a flaw and all fire people in that part of the city were endangered.

She finally told her dad about her relationship with Wade ( the inspector) but Fire and Water cannot coexist. But theirs was different; they didn’t put out each other. Eventually her father blessed them and agreed. Ember went on to study more about her molten glass designing. Before this her father had already given her the shop. Before the flood so he told her that she was the dream not the shop and all that just her.

MY OPINION ABOUT ELEMENTAL
I love that the movie was realistic and I love how it portrayed the struggles people go through on a day to day basis. It was relatable and it felt good to see something realistic. I think the Fire and Water was for the different people that others think they can’t naturally coexist but in the case of Ember and Wade they did because they were truly in love and were ready to sacrifice for each other. Her father made sure to stand by her when he found out about what she truly loved and that is really beautiful
