Top 20 Anime Wiafu's Part 1 (20-11)
Whelp, time to be a degenerate. Part one of my Top Twenty Anime Waifus! A few guidelines: Only one character per anime. I want a good range of representation. Mind you, I honestly looked over the list and don't think removing this rule would have changed my list at all. Also, none from shows this year, or are still airing from last year. You will not see Frieren on this list because of that (Plus I haven't started that show yet),

20.)Belldandy (Ah! My Goddess!)
I was a bit hesitant to include her on my list at all, and she was just shy of getting cut. My reasoning behind this is while I do like Belldandy, she feels a bit too perfect to be real. At the same time, that's kind of why so many people loved her. She IS the perfect wife. She is kind of designed as the ultimate fantasy for a happy life.
Even if it feels a little too perfect to be real, I can't deny the appeal here. It feels a bit too out there for me to really grasp onto, but at the same time it feels wrong for Belldandy to not be here.
19.) Yuri (Dirty Pair)
I dont' know if this is more Yuri herself or just the vibe of Dirty Pair. I've not watched the series before, just the Project Eden movie, but that entire show is absolute nonsense that defies review. And yet, somehow, none of it seems to drag the Dirty Pair themselves down. Yes, everything always goes horrifically wrong, but it all works out for them.
And Yuri is my preferred of the pair, both very ladylike and kicking ass. Seems like she is always having fun no matter what she does. So screw it, a life with Yuri is a life of fun and uncontrolled chaos, and I'm here for it.
18.) Sir Integral Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing (Hellsing Ultimate)
...I feel like some of you are going to judge me for this one. But screw it, I'm sticking with it. Hellsing is the absolute epitome of a person in power. An overwhelming presence that forces everyone around her to follow her lead, a clear-cut direction, and a willingness to put her reputation and power on the line to follow through with her convictions.
I'm not even in the 'Step on me mommy' crowd at all, but there is no denying that is definitely the kind of vibe she gives off. Really kind of out there for me, but this is an emotional list and not a logical one.
17.) Chisato (Lycoris Recoil)
Chisato is an absolute love of life in the form of a human being. The overly peppy characters are another archetype that usually isn't for me, but Chisato just seems so fun to be around constantly. And the love of everything she does feels so sincere it just wraps you in.
She would have been higher on this list had it not been for the fact that I know it would wear me out in almost no time. At no point in my life have I ever had the energy to be able to keep up with that.
16.) Rin Tohsaka (Fate/Stay Night)
Look man, sometimes I'm just a sucker for that Absolute Territory. Also, I just really loved Rin in Fate/Stay Night, easily one of the best characters. Strong, thoughtful, pragmatic, and rich. She has a bluntness to her that I really appreciate.
I kind of disagree with the assessment of her as a Tsundere, as her distance is more of a necessity in the story. There is an incentive for her not to grow too attached to her competitors, so it feels odd to throw the label on her even if it's technically accurate. That said, while I'm not big on the Tsundere archetype, something about those just shy of it kind of work for me.
15.) Ozen the Immovable (Made in Abyss)
...I don't even have a way to justify this one. I'm not a masochist, I'm not really a 'Step on me mommy' kind of person, and Ozen is psychotic as all hell, barely even human at this point because of the effects the Abyss has had on her mind.
But this woman can step on me all she likes.
14) Milly (Trigun)
In part this is a bit of a Nostalgia pick for me, Milly was among my earliest childhood crushes. That said, I adore Milly. She's strangely smart but oblivious to that fact, and I love the Airhead quality. She's also got me laughing a lot, easily the funniest character of Trigun.
Plus, look at her size! She would make a fantastic big spoon.
13.) San (Princess Mononoke)
I have a thing for women with a lot of drive, and San definitely has that. While reckless at times, she will not stop fighting for what it is she wants. I also have a soft spot for characters who learn to overcome the hate in their heart, even when in cases like San there is a very real and relatable reason for it. It shows a certain degree of maturity.
12.) Tokime (Fuuto PI)
...Look, when I say this it is not because I think Tokime is a bad character, she's actaully pretty great and has a lot of great characteristics.
This pick is 80% just my dick talking.
11.) Tohru Honda (Fruits Basket)
There is no better Girlfailure out there than Tohru Honda. She's clumsy, really positive, and often screws everything up. That said, there is something about her that I relate too, and a lot of people probably relate too. The thing that really drives Tohru is her constant effort to try not to be a burden. At the end of the day, she doesn't want any of her issues and trauma to drag down anyone else, and while she takes it too far, a big part of her character, I think it takes a lot of care and a person really great deep down to be able to do something like that.
She cares and tries harder than anyone else, so despite being another kind of character I may not necessarily like this much, I absolutely adore Tohru.
The first part is out of the way! May be a bit before part 2, I've got other things to focus on. This list, and the inevitable and clearly superior Video Game Waifu list will come as well, was just some dumb fun for me.
