Review: Prom Pact (ENG/ESP)
Honestly, it's been a long time since I saw a new Disney movie, but the other day I was resting from my college homework and I started watching videos on Tik Tok, in that moment I came across a pretty funny scene from a movie called ¨Graduation Pact¨ and I thought it was a good idea to watch it, so as soon as I finished my work I went to Disney+ to see this movie.
Mandy Yang is an 18 year old girl who is about to graduate and plans to do everything she can to go to her dream college ¨Harvard¨. Despite her good grades Mandy still does not receive an answer to her application, after talking to the principal of her school she decides that the best option she has is to get a letter of recommendation. On the other hand Graham Lansing is one of the most popular guys in high school, he is charismatic, athletic and the son of a powerful senator and Harvard alumnus, so Mandy decides to approach Graham to gain his trust and ask him to give her the letter of recommendation she craves. What Mandy didn't expect is that as she gets to know Graham better she will begin to develop feelings for him.
In the movie we can also see the story of Ben Plunkett, Mandy's best friend with whom he goes out every Friday to watch a movie and eat waffles. Ben is in love with a high school girl and tries to get closer to her, however, his friendship with Mandy will bring him some difficulties at the beginning of his relationship with this girl.
Yes! all in all it's a movie I would recommend if you want to just hang out with a romantic comedy. I liked Graham from the beginning as well as Mandy and Ben, and I must say that although Mandy's parents have little participation in the movie I also think they were very good characters. The ending is a bit different from the typical teen movies and I liked that because I was expecting an ending and it turned out that everything happened differently.
Even though it's a romantic comedy aimed at teenagers I feel that anyone can watch it. It is easy to digest and has something different than other movies out there, I always find it fun to watch movies where there are proms because I like to see how creative people are in asking their partners to prom. I'm really glad I found it, especially at a time in my life when I'm going through stressful situations, these types of movies help me relax and distract me from everything for a while. Sinceramente hace mucho que no veía una película nueva de Disney, pero el otro día estaba descansando de mis tareas de la universidad y me puse a ver vídeos en Tik Tok, en eso me conseguí con una escena bastante divertida de una película llamada ¨Pacto de Graduación¨ y me pareció una buena idea verla, fue así como a penas terminé mis ocupaciones me fui a Disney+ para ver esta película.
Mandy Yang es una chica de 18 años que esta a punto de graduarse y piensa hacer todo lo posible para ir a su universidad soñada ¨Harvard¨. A pesar de sus buenas calificaciones Mandy aún no recibe una respuesta a su solicitud, luego de hablar con la directora de su escuela decide que la mejor opción que tiene es conseguir una carta de recomendación. Por otro lado Graham Lansing es uno de los chicos más populares de la secundaria, es carismático, atleta y el hijo de un poderoso senador y exalumno de Harvard, por lo que Mandy decide acercarse a Graham para ganar su confianza y pedirle que le de la carta de recomendación que tanto ansia. Lo que Mandy no esperaba es que al conocer mejor a Graham comenzaría a desarrollar sentimientos por él.
En la película también podemos ver la historia de Ben Plunkett, el mejor amigo Mandy con quien sale cada viernes a ver una película y a comer waffles. Ben esta enamorado de una chica de la secundaria e intenta acercarse a ella, sin embargo, su amistad con Mandy le traerá algunas dificultades al inicio de su relación con esta chica.
Si! en definitiva es una película que recomendaría si quieres simplemente pasar el rato con una comedia romántica. Graham me agradó desde el principio al igual que Mandy y Ben, y debo decir que aunque los padres de Mandy tienen poca participación en la película también me parece que fueron muy buenos personajes. El final es algo diferente a las típicas películas de adolescentes y eso me gustó porque estaba esperando un final y resultó que todo se dio de otra manera.
Aunque es una comedia romántica dirigida a adolescentes siento que puede verla cualquier persona. Es fácil de digerir y tiene algo distinto a otras películas que existen, siempre me parece divertido ver películas en las que haya bailes de graduación porque me gusta ver lo creativos que son las personas para invitar a sus parejas al baile. De verdad me alegra haberla encontrado, especialmente en un momento de mi vida en el que estoy pasando por situaciones que provocan estrés, este tipo de películas me ayuda a relajarme y distraerme de todo un rato.
