NOWHERE (2023) REVIEW (ESP/ENG)
Hace bastante tiempo que no veía películas y creo que eso me hizo bastante selectiva al momento de volver a ver una. Estaba pasando el tiempo en internet cuando leí un comentario de alguien diciendo que le asustaban mucho los contenedores que viajaban en barco desde que vio la película Nowhere, me lalm+o la atención saber por qué esta persona decía tal comentario así que decidí verla.
It's been quite some time since I've seen movies and I think that made me quite selective when it came to watching one again. I was hanging out on the internet when I read a comment from someone saying that he was really scared of containers traveling by ship since he saw the movie Nowhere, I was curious to know why this person was saying such a comment so I decided to watch it.
Mía es una mujer de España que viaja en un contenedor junto con su esposo y otras personas en un contenedor marítimo para salir de España e ir hasta Irlanda. En el transcurso del viaje pasa una tragedia que deja a mía luchando por su vida en medio del mar. Es una historia basada en un futuro distópico.
Mia is a woman from Spain who travels in a container with her husband and other people in a sea container to leave Spain and go to Ireland. In the course of the journey a tragedy happens that leaves Mia fighting for her life in the middle of the sea. It is a story based on a dystopian future.
Honestamente al principio pensé que sería otra película sobre un naufragio y eso hizo que no esperara gran cosa sobre la trama. Sin embargo, esta película tiene elementos que van más allá de lo clásico, eso la hace bastante innovadora, además de que también la vuelve más entretenida, constantemente estas en suspenso y quieres saber saber como la protagonista va a actuar con tan pocos recursos que cuenta en medio del mar.
Honestly at first I thought it would be another shipwreck movie and that made me not expect much about the plot. However, this movie has elements that go beyond the classic, that makes it quite innovative, plus it also makes it more entertaining, you are constantly in suspense and want to know how the protagonist is going to act with so few resources she has in the middle of the sea.
Me gustó mucho ver a Mía como protagonista, me parece que es una mujer bastante inteligente y fuerte. Pude comprender esos momentos en la trama en los que ya no quería seguir luchando y al mismo tiempo me encantó que demostrara lo que una madre es capaz de hacer solo por su hija, sobre todo en la escena final cuando ya va a ser rescatada pero se esta ahogando y aún así mantiene su brazo en alto para asegurarse de que su hija podrá vivir unos momentos más.
A pesar de tener pocos elementos con ella supo como ingeniárselas y usar cada uno de la mejor manera. En definitiva sufrí su dolor con cada herida que sufría y me dio mucha satisfacción saber que tanto ella como su hija resultaron estar bien al final.
Lo que no me quedó del todo claro fue si la comunicación que tenía con Nico (su esposo) era real o no, ya que había partes en las que me daba la imagen de ser solamente alucinaciones por las ganas que tenía ella de ver a su marido. Ustedes que piensan ¿Nico si habló con Mía o todo siempre fue una alucinación?
I really liked seeing Mia as the main character, I found her to be quite an intelligent and strong woman. I could understand those moments in the plot when she didn't want to fight anymore and at the same time I loved that she showed what a mother is capable of doing just for her daughter, especially in the final scene when she is about to be rescued but she is drowning and still keeps her arm up to make sure her daughter will be able to live a few more moments.
Despite having few elements with her she knew how to manage and use each one in the best way. Ultimately I suffered her pain with every wound she sustained and it gave me great satisfaction to know that both she and her daughter turned out to be okay in the end.
What was not entirely clear to me was if the communication she had with Nico (her husband) was real or not, as there were parts that gave me the impression that they were just hallucinations due to her desire to see her husband. What do you think? Did Nico talk to Mía or was it all just a hallucination?
A esta película le doy un 4/5 porque tuvo varias cosas que en realidad me sorprendieron, para una tarde tranquila la recomiendo totalmente.
I give this movie a 4/5 because it had several things that actually surprised me, for a quiet evening I totally recommend it.
