The movie I just watched: 57 Seconds (2003)
From time to time I will write something about movies or series that I have just watched. Some of them will be new and some will not (as I tend to ignore some of them for years). Anyway - it will be new one for me.
If I think that there will be spoilers, I will clearly mention it!

On one side is a promising cast with Morgan Freeman, Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games) and Greg Germann. On the other hand, the rest of the cast seems plucked from a failed high school play - completely unconvincing and shallow. I can't help but notice that the rubber team of six is very precisely divided into three white and three black performers. My woke-shit sensor kicked in, though not enough to make me give up on the movie.
The plot of the film and the idea are excellent. One of the protagonists has the ability to go back in time exactly 57 seconds (this is not a spoiler because it literally says on the poster and trailer of the movie). Phenomenal idea! We have already seen a lot of productions on that topic, from hilarious comedies, through thrillers, horror, science-fantasy sagas to complete dramas such as the phenomenal Butterfly Effect. What sets this realization apart from most previous realizations is that it is very shallowly realized and completely unconvincing.
The characters are not developed and there is no impression of their connection, even between the partners. The lines, the plots, the resolution of the scenes... everything is somehow on the level of the aforementioned failed high school play. I just rolled my eyes too many times.
As pure fun with popcorn and company in a casual setting of home-watching, this movie has my recommendation. Like something you'd go see at the cinema - absolutely not.
In the end, it seems to me that the only selling point of the film is Morgan Freeman. Everything else is just to be forgotten

If you have any advice on what I should look at, please recommend it. It doesn't matter if it's a movie or a series. I am a big fan of science and epic fiction, comedies, thrillers and mind-fuck movies. I'm not a fan of historical dramas, war sagas and too unhappy endings. I don't like cliffhangers and I am woke intolerant 🤷♂
