Divergent: What Makes You Different, Makes You Dangerous

Yeah, I know this is an old movie but who cares? I have seen this movie more than five (5) times now and I don't mind seeing it again. This movie is not like those movies you wouldn't even want to see again after seeing it the first time. Even Netflix can testify to this as the movie, Divergent is one of the top ten movies on their platform right now. And so I decided to see it once again and then write something about it this time around.

Divergent is a movie set in a world where people are sorted into factions based on their personalities. But what if you don't fit neatly into one of these factions? This is where our hero, Tris, comes in.

Tris lives in a society where everyone is sorted into one of five factions, and each of these factions represents a different personality trait. There's Abnegation which is for the selfless, Amity for the peaceful, Candor for the honest, Dauntless for the brave, and Erudite for the intelligent. Tris doesn't quite fit into any of these categories and even her test results were inconclusive. We were meant to know that she is what they call "Divergent". This means that she has qualities from more than one faction.

Now, being a Divergent is dangerous in her society because it means you can't be controlled or easily sorted and in her society, control is everything. This made Tris to hide her true identity so she won't be targeted by those in power.

However, there was no way Tris can hide forever, especially after making the decision to join the Dauntless faction. Tris faced so many challenges during her training and during this process, she discovers some hidden truths about her society, and this made her realize that being different might just be her greatest strength.

Trust me guys, this movie is packed with lots of thrilling action scenes, like the part when Tris faces her fears in the Dauntless initiation trials and also the part where she battled against those who want to take over the society. I want us to know here that this movie is not all about the fights since there are also moments of friendship, love and even self discovery. I believe that all these put together is what truly makes this movie a compelling one.

Now at the heart of this movie is the message that it's okay to be different, it's okay to embrace who you are, and it's okay to stand up for what you believe in. Tris showed us through this movie that being brave does not mean never being afraid, it means you are facing your fears head-on, even when you know it's scary.

Shailene Woodley shines as Tris in this movie and she brought depth and vulnerability to the character. Her journey of becoming a fearless leader from a timid outsider is both inspiring and relatable, and this makes Tris a hero for audiences of all ages.

Of course, Tris was not alone in this journey as she was supported by different other characters, each of these characters with their own strengths and weaknesses. We have Four who is her tough but tender mentor, and also Christina and Will, her loyal friends.

Trust me when I tell you that this movie isn't just a movie but it's also a story about finding your place in the world, standing up for what's right, and embracing the things that make you unique. This movie is a reminder that we all have the power to change our destiny, no matter where we come from or what obstacles we face.

So guys, if you are looking for a movie that's both thrilling and thought-provoking to watch, I recommend Divergent to you.
