Glacial Melt

DSC06504.jpeg

This is glacial melt water. Fresh off the six tiny glaciers up above. The six glaciers are: Upper Victoria, Lower Victoria, Aberdeen, Lefroy, Upper Lefroy, and Popes. At this point in the hike we are getting close to the finish line. But first we must cross this foot bridge, in order not to get our boots soaked in the ice cold water. Easy choice. Probably the worst feeling is to have wet hiking boots and socks. I like dry as much as possible. Dry is good. Earlier on, on the first leg of the hike, we did have to put up with a brief rain, which we managed to escape relatively dry, but if it hadn’t have stopped, it would have certainly ruined the entire hike!

Nice shot's my friend, what are all those up on the mountains straight ahead in the first shot? Roads, Trails? or just places they've cut down trees. It almost looks like something was written or a symbol, haha.

Mountain crop circles lol..but seriously, the ski runs for when the snow flys!

It's a whole lot of water flowing all over there from that glacial melt, the footbridge is certainly so necessary. Dry is better I agree, moving around with soggy boots would be like uncomfortable.

avatar

The worst yes. Luckily it was a dry hike for the most part!

Seeing the glaciers' ice melting into water and flowing like this must be so amazing. Such wonders of Nature many don't get to see in their lifetime. Indeed you are lucky 😊

A challenging climb,The melted water is like a mood, but this is a very pleasant challenge in your climb.
Hopefully it will come to the destination quickly.
Always be careful.

Certainly it does add to the experience and mood. Thanks.

It would be very interesting for me to observe in Upper Victoria, Lower Victoria, Aberdeen, Lefroy, Upper Lefroy and Popes, the glaciers and the process of deglaciation in those areas, I have never seen such a beautiful process. For you @daveks in Canada it is a very typical fact and you make very beautiful pictures of it. I anticipate to thank you for your visits to my publications. You have played beach tennis, I post it today. Success.

Beach tennis? Sounds like fun! Thanks.

It is excellent friend @daveks play beach tennis, very close to our Great Gulf of Cariaco that we have in my city Cumaná. In google you can search the immensity of the gulf and the Caribbean Sea. Thanks for your visit. Good luck.

I loved that first photo, the composition looks spectacular with that wooden walkway in the left third and the landscape in the background... In black and white it is even more eloquent!... Thank you for sharing!
