The 6th Day

Sometimes I think I should say at the beginning what I should say at the end. I can start by saying that Arnold Schwarzenegger's performance in The 6th Day, one of the millennium productions, was the worst I have ever seen. Of course, I should add that the comparison here is Arnold Schwarzenegger's own acting performances.

The 6th Day has a story based on cloning. Animals, plants, fruits and then humans. Despite the fact that it is forbidden, scientists are supposedly serving humanity by producing human clones and killing the real ones to replace them.

So far, the story of the movie sounds perfect to me because when I think back to the year of its production, I remember that in those days, cloned sheep and mapped human DNA were very much on the agenda.

Faced with the risk of starvation as a result of the uncontrolled increase in population and the rampant use of the world's resource reserves, mankind shows flexibility in cloning and some food and animals are allowed to be cloned.

Adam Gibson, a pilot for an airline company, returns from a mission on the day of his birthday to find a man who looks and acts exactly like him having fun with his family.

Looking at the story and the synopsis of the movie, I thought the role was right for Arnold Schwarzenegger, but as I watched the movie, it didn't take me long to realize that I was wrong. In a position he is used to from his past movies, I don't expect him to struggle or give a bad performance. In fact, I didn't expect him to add anything to it, but at least to continue the same line.

I witnessed the worst Arnold Schwarzenegger performance I've ever seen over and over again during the movie The 6th Day. In such cases, I'm always in favor of quitting when you're at your peak. The person may not be able to see the truth about himself, but I think those around him should warn him about this and explain the uselessness of insisting. And this is not only true for cinema!

What could have been a very good story for The 6th Day was wasted because of the casting or the reluctance of the preferred actor. The main character's performance contributes positively or negatively to the movie, but I find it quite interesting that it contributes so negatively and almost doesn't reflect the slightest positivity compared to his past performances.

I'll leave it to you to decide whether to watch the movie, it's a good but mishandled production with a good story and the lackluster performances of the actors makes it no better than mediocre. There were a few moments where I laughed throughout the movie, but I would have preferred to feel the tension instead of laughing.

And also, if you look at the trailer or the synopsis of the movie, you might think that it is an excellent science fiction, but I found the science fiction aspect of the movie lacking.

Thank you for being here and reading. Have a good weekend, take care, goodbye!
