Irish Wish - To experience love in order to fall in love?
When I watched Irish Wish, one of the new productions of the year 2024, the first thing that came to my mind was my objection to the statement that "one person's happiness should not be another person's unhappiness" in my recent article titled Let me tell you something?
Although the movie supports this thesis, I still agree and disagree. The way Irish Wish is handled in the movie leads to both successful and entertaining moments. One person's one vital wish triggers a chain of events that leads to someone else's unhappiness.
The whole plot is reshaped when a dream, which can be as simple as going back to the past and changing a small event to reshape the entire future and cause everything that happens to change, suddenly comes true. I liked the progression of the movie in terms of fiction and comedy and the reactions of the characters.
Like the big picture that can never be completed because of a few changed pieces in the puzzle, it shows good examples of how a few changes can affect the lives of the person who wants the change and those around them. The harmony between the characters before and after the new developments makes this fantasy comedy all the more entertaining. I liked the behavior of the opposing characters during their attempts to gain the upper hand over each other the most.
Of course, there is one of my favorites; Maddie, the main character who experiences the intense effects of the movie and the realization of her dream, was my favorite name. Lindsay Lohan, who gives life to the character, successfully represents a very energetic, sympathetic and funny personality and reflects it to the audience. She is the kind of strong female character that everyone who loves to laugh would want to have in their lives.
When Maddie had to face the negative repercussions right after her dream that she wanted the most came true, her ability to reflect her regret and take a step back from what happened was remarkable as a person with an extraordinary character stance; as a model of what one should be but cannot be.
The impression that some characters create in a movie makes it a great pleasure to watch the movie. Thanks to the character of Maddie, Irish Wish was one of the productions that fit the example I gave. I have to say that I first and foremost enjoyed the movie for its comedy and entertainment aspect and I followed every plot twist just to smile.
One of the things I liked the most was the spectacular landscape visuals in the places where the story takes place. When the harmony of the artificial visuals created by humans was added to the color harmony of nature, the film turned into a visual show for a while. I can say that the movie, in which human relationships are questioned a lot, was one of the productions worth watching in terms of behaviors and dialogues.
Although it did not change my opinion that one person's happiness should not be another's unhappiness, I recommend you to watch the movie Irish Wish just for the entertainment and fantastic comedy aspect. With its warming and smiling structure, I think it is definitely worth seeing and worth the time you spend.
Do you have to experience love to fall in love? Or to be really patient and catch love at the right time with the right person?
